also on this machine i rebooted miner and seems fine now, working strait away. Will look into my other rigs later tonight. Thanks for feedback.
As you were replying I just got a piece of mesquite out for the grill (I cut mine with a chainsaw though).  I like saving up some mesquite, oak, hickory and cherry for grilling.

Thats great so far, lets hope we dont run out of sockets again.

Here is the output of telnet:
Trying 104.238.147.232...
Connected to foundation.biblepay.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Problem persists; I sent you more details over pm.

Ok, yes, I believe the bug is corrected in the socket class.

I will check this in during the next check-in for the foundation/pool.

Please, anyone having the connection issue, please retry now.

Hey Rob!

Trying to install new miner ,  5.10.1 version xmrig-bbp i get these connection errors.
I have noticed over the past days i have seen similar output on some of my other machines running  the 5.6.2 and 5.6.3 versions.

Any ideas?

Oh ok, this is happening to two people?  I had one other complaint, but that user had over 101 miners, so it had to do with ddos.

Lets try to resolve this; the bans last for 20 minutes.
Can you please tell me the exact time when it happens and send me a pm or email and we will trace the problem?

Btw my email is [email protected].

Hi Rob,

I am getting "connection reset by peer" error when I try to mine towards foundation.biblepay.org:3001.

Is there another port I can try?

That port is vardiff, so it is our only port.
Can you please tell me what happens if you telnet to 'foundation.biblepay.org 3001', this will tell me if its a port block or not.
If it has not started working by now please can you give me your bbp address?

We have a limit of 100 tcp connections per miner IP currently.

I second all of that, everything works fine. Re-Invest (comparable to an ETF plowing back dividends) would be nice to have, but for now I just log in from time to time and push the payouts back into the fractional sanc amount. :)

One more thing: after a while you get logged out of the forum automatically. When this happens and you click e. g. on "fractional sancs" you get redirected to a page stating that you have to be logged on for that.
I would prefer instead if you would directly be brought to the log in page.

10-4 on the reinvest, yes if someone just moves the balance every month they will get almost the entire "compounded" effect.
So on this logout after a certain period, I partially know whats going on and I agree it would be nice to lengthen that duration.

The problem is broken into two parts:  During the last 7 days we had a lot of deploys, which resets the session.  Its finally becoming stable, so the session should become more stable, meaning you wont be getting logged out inadvertently.

On part 2, let me check to see the length of the sessions auto-expire.

I believe it will work on almost all windows servers (as its written against .net framework 4.7.1).  But I would recommend using Server 2012.  I was able to buy a copy of 2012 for $99 recently online, and I burned my own vultr image, then I started an instance on vultr from the homemade ISO.  (This saves $10 a month if you already own the license, then you pay the same price as unix servers).

Im preparing it now for check in.  We obviously have a few enemies.  The pool has been d-dosed, port attacked, and the sql server attacked.  As long as the firewall is enabled, the pool owner should be OK, as now we have banning in here also.

The c# pool code has been opensourced, so now we can have more pools, if anyone wants to run one here is the new github:
https://github.com/biblepay/foundation

Note ahead of time, a person who decides to run a biblepay pool will have to do extra administrative work each month to ensure the orphan-tithes collected gets sent to actually sponsor orphans (its probably an extra day of work per month as compared to a normal pool).  And we would want this person to have a high level of integrity.

This github will also allow you to share the whole media collection (IE the records can be loaded that points to the media, which shares all the content at video.biblepay.org - that is all the videos on the foundation web site without taking up hard drive space).

** BBP-Xmrig 5.10.1 - Mandatory Upgrade for Miners **

- Remove automatic tithing from the miner

* Note:  The old version of the miner tithes 10%.  Please start using the new version, as the pool now holds back the 10% orphan-tithe automatically.

** Mac is still building, MIP will notify

Do you know what operating system the server must be for the new pool?

I tried it out and it works. So far, I've gotten two daily rewards. The login requires 2FA (Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, DUO, etc) which adds a nice layer of security. All the adds & removes were immediate. All the withdrawls showed up on my wallet immediately. The deposits of course require a few confirms which is to be expected. :)  The only thing I wish for is an auto reinvest feature, but I'm happy to visit the fractional sanctuary and add BBP whenever I get to it.

Thanks a lot Sun for this feedback!

Yes, we can add auto reinvest sometime in the future.

Im glad to know the 2fa worked with other providers other than google also.

** Pool Operator updates **

We will soon be retiring our Nomp pools, due to the fact that these pools cannot enforce orphan charity correctly.

If you are or want to be a pool operator please look into our c# pool which will be open sourced this weekend.
Currently, the c# pool is the only pool biblepay supports with RandomX.

Please keep an eye on this forum for software updates, as this is the official place for software update notices.

We will be issuing a mandatory upgrade for our BBP Xmrig miner later today.  This update primarily consists of a change that removes the orphan charity tithe from the miner.

The pool will automatically collect the tithes going forward.

Dave,

I have updated the registration page to not ask for the Popes name; your right that was sort of confusing.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Regarding why we have a new forum:
- The bitcointalk moderators banned me, for posting Christian posts repeatedly (or posts about BiblePay gaining traction); Im not exactly sure which content I was banned for.
- I was not warned that I would be banned if I reposted the Christian content.  I did it 3 consecutive times, by rephrasing it (because I was under the impression it had to be original and thats why it was deleted).  Again, no explanation was given to me as to why the 2nd and 3rd unique content was not then allowed to stay.   All I can say is it appears to be "Christian" content that got me flagged, because when our old users who used to swear at me, and make profanity laced posts, those posts never got flagged or deleted by mods.  Only my Christian posts got flagged and deleted by them.
- The mods rarely (10% or less) listened to me when I asked them to ban a user for N days who broke a forum rule (I would have been happy with a 3 day ban for example at the time).  But they banned me from my own forum for re-posting Christian content that is related to BiblePay (because our wallet has in wallet prayers, and we are trying to save people).
- Mprep swore at me 5 months ago, with the 4 letter word, repeatedly and told me off, for asking him to ban a user who swore in the post repeatedly.  Then he blocked me when I tried to reply in a politically correct way.  So I am actually unable to reply to moderators deletion requests.
- I vented my concern with Theymos, who deleted my PMs and has never replied (in a year).
- I believe the mods there are secretly nice to bitcoin based whales on the public side, but on the private side they appear to be malicious and probably joke about altcoins and like to swear to each other etc.  I base this on one of the public forums where they reply in a politically correct way but the way I was spoken to was "Your a piece of trash, you  4 letter word, and What do I care about your problems ****, Get lost  *********!  ."  Then when I questioned the service he was providing he banned me from PMs.

I don't use the CPK address to mine on foundation.biblepay.org, should I change it?
mining address: BBt8ZmuHc21aoZmj7BNXPrWwvdsXg1KM88

Thanks for the compiments Fred, I'm glad your here.
I hope we can grow in this phase.

No, you don't have to change that, we generally use the CPK to identify the reward address for PODC (and we don't deliberately try to track people etc).
I just mentioned that rule for new RX miners so I can identify them for the initial reward.

Take care,
Rob
