General Discussion / Essay from Kairos Children's Fund
« on: January 18, 2022, 11:07:47 PM »
Last week I announced an essay contest for the children. So far, only one person has given the essay, but I wanted to post it here. It's really an amazing essay, very well written. In fact I am surprised that her English is so good! I am sure she wrote it herself, because I know this girl is very honest and I can "hear" her "voice" in what she wrote.
Quote
What does Jesus mean to me?
Each person whether a child or adult, we always have this one significant person who greatly inspires, influence or impact our life and perspective. We tend to look at that person wishing 'someday I wish I can be like that too'. Let me share to mine--the person who I follow, serve and love. The person who did not just inspire, influence or greatly impact my life but He totally changed it. His name is Jesus. Yes, you read it right! JESUS the most wonderful, beautiful and powerful name I ever heard. But what does Jesus mean to me? Jesus, for me, is my everything. He is my faithful father who supplys and provides all my needs and bless my household with enough or more blessings sufficient for us to bless others as well. He is my enduring friend who is always presents in every season, the One who is always there fore me to comfort, encourage or convict me everytime I fall. My helper who helps and comforts me in times of distress and trouble.  My Saviour who save my from darkness and the power of sin and from the wrath to come. My Master and Lord who is sovereign over all things. The giver of Life and salvation. He let me live so that I can enjoy and be with Him for eternity. He redeems and calls me as His own. He's the source of my peace and Joy. He is my God and my life. A life with Him is a life full of His presence and in His presence is fullness of joy and peace. Praises and glory be to my God and saviour Jesus Christ who is blessed forever
Angel has lupus, and "incurrable" disease, but I know that God can heal her. She is very strong in her faith.

Production Proposals / Kairos Christmas proposal
« on: November 29, 2021, 10:00:00 PM »
December is a special time for Children. Most kids love the attention, special food, and of course, gifts. For poor kids around the world, parents do their best to provide those three, but it's not always possible.
For the Kairos kids, we plan to give them a gift box. It's something we haven't done before, but we believe that we can this year. It might not be much, but something means a lot.
We will also be having a Christmas party sometime during the week before Christmas.

I am making this proposal for 2m, which would be about $260 (as of Nov. 30). This is enough, I believe, but if we get more in donations that would be great.

If we get more than needed, we will use the balance for school supplies next semester.

If you would like to give a donation, please consider adding a Christmas greeting. I will be posting pictures after the occasion on our website, Facebook, and Unchained.
You can also use BBP or paypal.com.

I thank everyone who gave for the small business loan project. I will be putting the finances all online, just to be transparent.  I want to be as transparent about finances as possible, without compromising the kid's privacy.
At the moment I am the only person, doing everything, except for one girl in the US who is helping with raising support and our social media.
For those who have Facebook, you may see our Facebook page for updates and pictures.

Thanks to those who gave!!! And for voting on the proposal

Some videos of the kids (I'm posting videos of those kids whose I have permission)

Production Proposals / Kairos Children's Fund Small Business Grants
« on: July 30, 2021, 12:55:33 AM »
First of all, thanks Biblepay for sponsoring 12 kids to go to school and get a good education. BBP has been helping our kids for 4 years now.
We are raising money for small business grants so that the parents of these kids will be able to start a small business. They are required to give us a business proposal worth $25 each. This is actually enough money to start a small business.
So far the proposals are:
Buying motorcycle tire interiors - $25
   Capital to start a home-based cupcake business  - $25
   Peanutbutter making  - $25
   Small store  - $25
   E-load business (cellphone)  - $25
   Puto business (a native breakfast)  - $25
Flower business (purchase of flowers)  - $25
We are trying to raise $500 for this project, but less than that amount will be a great help also.

Archived Proposals / Kairos Children's Fund new website
« on: November 13, 2019, 07:06:51 AM »
I wanted to let the community know that Kairos Children's Fund has a new website. (kairoschildrensfund.com). We stopped the old website several months ago, and I just got it up again. I will be integrating it with POOM, and hopefully this will help in the sponsorship area.

If you would be interested to sponsor, go to the website and click 'sponsor a child'. You can also download our brochure if you want to pass it out to friends.

BiblePay needs to recover, I understand that.

I am requesting 700,000BBP, which at the current rate is $490 (as of August 15). This will cover the monthly expenses for 10 children, as well as allow them to buy school shoes and backpacks. This is a blessing because Biblepay has been doing well lately.

Our website is down at the moment, so we are using a free host for the moment: https://kairoscf.wordpress.com/

I had accidentally named the last proposal as the "August recurring..." It should have been for the month of July, not Augus. If you look back at archived proposals, I didn't propose for July.

So this is for August.

I am requesting 700,000BBP, which at the current rate is $341 (as of June 13). This will cover the monthly expenses for 9 children. Details of the expenses and children sponsored by Biblepay are on our website.

HELENA NARCISO        P175
ANGEL OZOA        P225
DANTE BALANSAG    P225
JOVELYN CADUSALE    250
ROWENA PALADAR    P250
PRINCESS CABUGNASAN    P175
PEPE GABRIEL    P250
TAJANA VEROSO    P175
EARL DARREN CHIU   P175(formerly Kent Suan)*
*the grandmother of Kent Suan voluntarily decided to give the allowance to Earl Darren Chiu, a very generous action. She felt that the family of Earl was less able to provide for his education.

Click here to see our budget for the month of July * note that this is only estimated.

We are really thankful - as the kids are also - for the support from Biblepay.

Since it is summer, we are raising money for the summer projects which we offer the children. Each of them are attending a church-based discipleship program, and we also give them the opportunity to learn a musical instrument or join a sports clinic. I am requesting 600,000BBP, which at the current rate is $160(as of March 21).
