Please point to the basic info on getting started mining

I've mined various SHA256 coins with ASICs, and used a few CPU mining pieces of software.   Also have some Litecoin ASICS. 

I'm finding it hard to find information on the current staking status after the major wallet change.  Also not sure how the mining works with BBP.

The mining will be changing in may.  It is currently using xmr dual mining, instructions can be found on any of the BBP pools.  Pretty simple using xmrig.  But that will be going away by the end of May, I believe.  Not sure about staking using the wallet as I haven't heard of that.

Any CPU that can mine Monero with Xmrig is what you can use.  Basically anything.  Like i said, go to the pools and they have documents on how to mine.  Don't have much time until the fork though in June.
