From our missionary brother Phil in Brazil. If this kind of support is out of scope for BiblePay, I understand. Brazil is having a very difficult time during covid-19.
“We have contacted several missionaries and churches prayerfully seeking after the Lord's will to see where we as a church could offer some help in these difficult days. Here is a list of few places where we will be engaging to give some support.
1. Mission in Itapevi/missionary Yoo - We will assist with the distribution of "cestas basicas" (basic baskets). These are baskets filled with basic food supplies like rice, beans, flour, oil, sugar, salt, and more. The cost for each basket is roughly around $13.
2. Missionary serving at Downtown Sao Paulo known as Cracolandia (Crackland) - We will give financial support to help them in their continuous outreach program. We will also donate masks for distribution.
3. Bolivian brothers and sisters - We will give support to our bolivian brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling financially by giving gift cards that can be used to purchase food at several different supermarkets. We will do this through a pastor who leads a church with many bolivian members.
4. Other brothers and sisters in Christ - We are aware of many brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling with basic needs. Our intention is to help them by giving gift cards that can be used for purchasing basic needs.
We already have sent help to Itapevi this week. I believe this crisis will prolong for many more months and the Lord will lead us to more people in the near future.
We thank the church for the heart to partake in the Lord's ministry of the Gospel.
