Pre-Proposal Discussion / Re: Add Proof-of-Giving
« on: November 24, 2018, 06:18:49 pm »
Couple of questions:
How would this handle multiple-client/machine miners (one large wallet, but copied to multiple machines for mining purposes)?

What happens if we get over 1k miners,  the reward and/or chance would drop drastically,

Would there be logic to prevent someone from missing too many payments (or getting paid too many times, while others "Starve")

It's an ambitious proposal.. .

  "Command": "getboincinfo",
  "CPID": "",
  "Address": "",
  "CPIDS": "",

No CPID is registered.

did you associate?  If so have you restarted the client since?

Archived Proposals / November Payroll/Expenses

Requesting payment for some of my time the last month.

VPS for & tools: $16

*Server setup for forum.biblepay
*data import, processing and script building for : PODC Status script
*R&D for new unbanked data source to re-enable WCG

Using Rob's valuation
Payroll:   20*40=$800/.000321=2.4MM bbp.
Expenses:    $16 / .000321 =  49844 BBP

Capping at 1.2MM bbp

How would this affect the superblock payments?

Since the ongoing daily tithe's to the foundation would help cover orphan expenses does that potentially reduce the impact needed?  (In the current market,  I would say long-term we would want to use the money for growth purposes).

Short-term if this is the case, and say we exceed 10% via mining-tithes.   We could dedicate more towards PR or something else?

Thanks for clarifying, I believe the WIKI needs to be updated:
From the actual code: rpcblockchain.php a bit past line 4600

   // 0) Heavenly               = UTXOWeight * TaskWeight * RAC = Magnitude
   // 1) Possessed by UTXO      = UTXOWeight * RAC = Magnitude
   // 2) Possessed by Tasks     = TaskWeight * RAC = Magnitude
   // 3) The-Law                = RAC = Magnitude
   // 4) DR (Disaster-Recovery) = Proof-Of-BibleHash Only (Heat Mining only) (Mode 1, 3, 4 are not checking tasks)

Thank you both a lot, that really helps.  It is really cool that the research being done saw a period where they didn't need more resources!  That is a great way to change the lives of many people!

One thing isn't clicking yet.  In DR 1, the formula is: TaskWeight * RAC, so it is the UTXOWeight that was removed from DR 0.  I understand that to mean the staking requirement was removed, not the TaskWeight.  With what you said about the WCG, wouldn't this mean the WCG miners aren't getting full credit and the people below 20 BBP per RAC aren't having reduced productivity.  Am I understanding this correctly?  If so, wouldn't we want to be in DR 2?

task weight is ignored, this has nothing to do with staking requirements.

Hashrate is only a concern if you are doing old fashion POW work. (POBH is what we call it)

You have to have 1 machine hashing on the network to issue your PODC udpates,  other than that you can dedicate all your efforts to BOINC.

It's my understanding that we currently are not using task weight,  I will check into why.

Manu: was released today with a fix for your issue.   We need the sanctuaries to upgrade to get the new information, should be soon.

When the network and sanctuaries update to then the WCG unbanked RAC will be back to normal. was just released :)

since this was just started i updated the URL for you :)

I wasted a few minutes looking at the first site haha

I'm up for another option....

Pre-Proposal Discussion / Re: Add Proof-Of-Orphan-Mining
« on: November 15, 2018, 04:06:01 pm »
The other thing I thought of this morning regarding account security:  If we do some due diligence we could potentially set this feature up as our Orphan DAC- another words, instead of viewing the home user as being reimbursed, maybe we recommend the home users be 'branch offices' of our DAO.  We tell them to setup dedicated accounts as "BiblePay DAO - Director Slovakia", IE using your BBP contact name and a personal PO Box, then for tax purposes you keep a copy of your billpay expenses to compassion to that account number, and of course the mining income - and optionally create a home based S corp.  In this type of setup Biblepay partially owns each home account (although we wont do anything with it or log in as we promised above) but it makes the set-up much more professional in the sense that the account is a specific branch of biblepay giving us the known right to scan the GID List from our asset list of branch offices.

Interesting thought,  I would say though if it gets to the point of creating corp's that would be a whole new level of complexity that makes today's efforts seem simple..

Still mulling this idea over,   there are some other thoughts in my mind I just cannot access them clearly yet.. i need some sleep haha

What's the reasoning behind moving ahead with the "extremely easy to setup" POOM before first making PODC/Boinc extremely easy to setup?

No moving ahead yet.. this is just a discussion phase.

Though the simplicity factor does weigh in..   Someone on BCT mentioned the vocabulary/acronym/learning curve to get familiar with this coin...   Perhaps this is something we should be looking at first.

The risk is if/as BTC price falls further it will be harder to keep up with our current obligations (even at a diminished capacity)

« on: November 14, 2018, 08:49:35 pm »

  • Rob posted an update to : new Detail Drill in capability for : Leaderboard View, Superblock View, Rosetta Machine Leaderboard View and Rosetta Unbanked Report.  This allows the user to see the highlighted record without referring back to the header.
  • Jaap has finished updating the website with the ‘five fold vision’ (This is the last feature of the round of website updates Jaap and Togo created about 45 days ago, when we undertook a campaign to make it easier to mine, explain, and invest in).  To see the vision, click on the main biblepay center bible logo.
  • is synced
  • new explorer:  currently syncing.
  • Biblepay released, with some fixes for Mac/Linux setups

We found the issue,   the problem is the CPU type of your device is reporting differently than we expect.

We are working on some changes, and should have this resolved soon.

It may take a client update to enforce the changes, we are working through the details.

Someone suggested it would be a cool to have a "community biblestudy" open for folks to participate.

This forum is designated for that,  or other theological discussion.  Open platform, open discussion.
