Archived Proposals / Re: Ads - Google, Twitter, Facebook
« on: September 12, 2018, 03:21:56 pm »
Advertising Status:

Bitcointalk Ads - Rejected Twice
Reddit Ads - Banned
Twitter Ads - Banned (ran temporarily)
Facebook Ads - Banned (pending review)
Google Ads - Banned (can still run, avoiding certain keywords)

I need to talk to Theymos again, we are waiting on Facebook, and Google is stopped

There are a lot of other crypto websites we can use to advertise

Also we can improve SEO on biblepay.org wordpress site with Yoast plugin and Google Analytics

Cost per Click/Engagement/Follow (CPC) is always going to cost more than Cost per Impressions/Views (CPM)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay-per-click
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_per_impression

Google Ads campaign isn't running after funding ran out, It was CPC on search network,
I want to test CPC and CPM on display network also

"The average Cost per Click (CPC) in AdWords across all industries is $2.69 for search and $0.63 for display."

The original keyword list is up above in previous post,
these are the keywords that got clicks:

Now the bigger question is, to know if CPC is worth it, out of the people who clicked, how many started mining? made an investment? told other people about us? I believe typical conversion rate in ecommerce  (how many people bought something after clicking an ad) is 1-3%, so lets say its 2% for us, so ~160 clicks (at ~$160) we probably got at least 3 investors/miners (so ~$53 each!), theres not really an easy way for us to track conversions (windows wallet download button?)

"CPA (Cost per Acquisition) benchmarks vary by industry and channel, but the average CPA for pay per click (PPC) search (across industries) is $59.18 while display (across industries) is just slightly higher at $60.76."

No worries at all sun! I am always open to feedback, and saving $20/month for 12 months is $240/year that could go towards other projects. We should always be looking for ways to save and maximize our budget.

I think I started off with AWS for cloud server because of prior experience and brand name, but they werent cost effective

Ive seen Vultr mentioned a lot in other masternode coins, and masternodes.pro had them as their main advertising banner, and Rob recommended them as well. So I was basically sold haha.

Is there an easy way to profile/track disk usage?

I believe the whole blockchain transaction history gets loaded and stored into MongoDB, I assume it probably all fits into RAM (my blocks folder on windows is only ~660MB)
https://github.com/iquidus/explorer

The reason for upgrading was CPU getting maxed out, the explorer is multithreaded:

Archived Proposals / CoinFeature.net "Coin of the Day"
« on: September 08, 2018, 05:22:47 pm »
In the BetweenBlocks masternode telegram a user (@itawyola) was posting to contact him if you had an altcoin that wanted free publicity

I contacted him and found that he works for CoinFeature https://coinfeature.net/ where they write a few paragraphs about a different coin each day "Coin of the Day"

Example:
https://coinfeature.net/2018/09/04/coin-of-the-day-scientificcoin/

The catch is that we had to post about them on our social media and put them in our ANN thread (original post), I negotiated to remove the ANN thread requirement and in return pay $25

They are going to feature us this Sunday (tomorrow), I already paid and have taken on the risk of this not being funded or this turning out to be a scam LOL hope it turns out well!

I am requesting $25 at 0.000451 per BBP = 55,432 BBP

I just use Vultr since its what Ive been using from the beginning, my masternodes, testnet, and podc are also on Vultr.

Im totally open to use a cheaper service though, Im just not sure which one

If anyone is interested in taking over running the explorer, Ill gladly pass the torch :)

Im back, upgraded $10/month Ubuntu 16.04 Vultr server to v1.1.4.8b of BiblePay

Steps to edit IPFS config in order to expose your IPFS for Biblepay integration:

cd ~/.ipfs
nano config
scroll down to line 47 (the line reads:  "Gateway:" /ip4/127.0.0.1/tcp/8080)

Edit the line to be:
"Gateway": "/ip4/your_sanc_public_ip/tcp/8080"

Stop the daemon and restart the daemon.

Once ipfs is running again, verify you can pull a file from your sanc publically:

http://yor_sanc_ip:8080/ipfs/QmPVMkWe7976YH22quBotbrDMV9tP4qCz9P5tndveKdeGs/hi.txt

Updated ipfs config with my IP Address

Link works!
http://144.202.69.224:8080/ipfs/QmPVMkWe7976YH22quBotbrDMV9tP4qCz9P5tndveKdeGs/hi.txt

I had to open up port 8080

Code: [Select]
sudo ufw allow 8080/tcp

"The only thing so far I dont like about the proposal is what West mentioned about 'double dipping'.  I never did like that possibility.  We could offer the ability to create a spork that contains a string of blacklisted team numbers (and I mean in no way any disrespect to the teams, this is precisely to prevent double dipping).  Any team that is alerted on the forum of paying in another crypto for the same work could be added to the key (IE blacklisted) and that would prevent double dipping, except where other coins like BiblePay do not require a team.   Another words:  users who are part of a blacklisted team are not compensated in bbp." -Rob

Is a team blacklist feature part of this proposal?
and do we have a list of teams to start off on the blacklist?
