I made a mistake in the proposal and had to create a new one. Please vote again on the new one

Most of you are familiar with Kairos Children's Fund already. Biblepay is supporting 10 of the Kairos kids at the moment. We are a charity in the Philippines sponsoring children's education.  The money we receive goes to prepay for the next month (February)

I am requesting 750,000 BBP, which at the current rate is $213 (as of Jan 23). This will be barely enough to support these children for another month, but not much else besides their bare allowances (unless the rate goes up). The money will be used for their transportation, lunch, projects, and school fees. The families will also be given a monthly 'rice allowance', which we raise from other means.

The monthly amount per child is $20 for elementary students or $22 for high school students. We have 5 elementary and 5 high school students at the moment with Biblepay, so the cost is $200 per month. You can see the details below or on the website.
Check out our facebook page or website for information and updates...

The children do appreciate getting letters. You might also want to consider sponsoring directly.

I am requesting 750,000 BBP, which at the current rate is $260 (as of Dec 12). The money will be used for their transportation, lunch, projects, and school fees. The families will also be given a monthly 'rice allowance'.

In December, the exchange was about the same, and we traded $230, which was enough to cover the allowances but nothing more. Our prayer is that Biblepay will do better and that more people will decide to sponsor directly.

The monthly amount per child is $20 for elementary students or $22 for high school students. We have 5 elementary and 5 high school students at the moment with Biblepay, so the cost is $200 per month. You can see the details below or on the website.

Thanks, Rob, I understand it better after reading your post and the comments posted. I really didn't get it before when you emailed. It does sound like a good idea and will make the crypto more simple and usable for people. I also like the reward system, but as inblue said it needs to be agreed upon by the community.
I do love Biblepay and how there seems to be a good innovation. I don't know of any other coin that works on the proposal system to give to charities.

General Discussion / Kairos Children's Fund: Call for sponsors
« on: December 03, 2018, 03:45:12 am »
Biblepay community,

Thanks for your support to BiblePay and to all of the charities it helps. I'm so grateful for all the help, especially as a small charity.
You might want to consider sponsoring a child for a year. Your money will help them to go to school - it pays for transportation, food, homework, and other school fees. Some of the children in the program would not go to school otherwise.
We are trying to raise money for their Christmas party and some gifts. Since we have some money saved, we have enough for a small party, but any additional amount is a big blessing.
If you would like to sponsor or to give a one-time-gift, please visit our website: kcf.winnegor.com

God Bless,
  Andrew Scribner

General Discussion / Kairos Children's Fund Web Site Feedback
« on: November 27, 2018, 12:01:34 am »
I would appreciate feedback on our website (https://kcf.winnegor.org) - I am the only person working on it at the moment. We had a volunteer but he backed out.

Also, how can we improve the accountability section without being compromising the kids' privacy at all? I am giving an account to all sponsors (direct sponsors, that is)

However, I might consider giving a generic account for all BiblePay community. What do you think?

Thanks!

Thanks for the update,  for SSL you can check into "lets encrypt" it's a free SSL certificate service.  (i'm using it for this forum)

Thank you thesnat21 for your help. It worked! Actually used a web tool called zerossl.com which helps get a certificate with Lets Encrypt. thanks again!

This topic should probobly be moved to the archived proposals section.

General Discussion / Kairos Children's Fund
« on: November 05, 2018, 05:01:32 am »
Kairos Children's Fund is a program that helps kids who otherwise would not go to school. We give them allowances for transportation, food, and homework, and pay their school fees.

If it wasn't for you, most of these kids would not be getting an education at all. We believe that this is the primary way for their family to be empowered and rise out of poverty.

Many Filipino families trying to educate their children are facing numerous financial challenges. Though technically free in the Philippines, there are a lot of expenses. Unlike the USA, the Philippine government does not pay for the things that American children are privileged to receive.

Last month and this month I requested 750,000 BBP, which at the current rate will be more than enough to support these children for a month, and help them with some other misc. expenses.

For those BiblePay 'members', a big thank you from our scholars and from the organizers of Kairos.

Since it is almost Christmas, we are saving money from other sources for small gifts and a Christmas party. Click https://www.gofundme.com/philippinekids if you want to give.

I am requesting 750,000 BBP, which at the current rate is $366. This will be enough to support these children for another month. The money will be used for their transportation, lunch, school fees, and uniform. The families will also be given a monthly 'rice allowance'.

Anything that is left over generally goes into our general fund, This can be used for various small things, not often admin fees (which is minimal since we have no salaried workers), Since it is almost Christmas, we are saving money from other sources for small gifts and a Christmas party.

sunk818, late reply... our facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/kairoschildrensfund/ and website is https://kairoscf.wordpress.com. We have a website at https://kcf.winnegor.org (my own domain) but it doesn't have SSL and at this time we can't afford it.

Just realized that the proposal I created in the qt wallet (without November in the title), which I thought was not working, is working. Please ignore my second proposal (the one that says "for November."
