Is BiblePay Unchained hosting files on Amazon S3 regions only (up to 4)? https://wiki.biblepay.org/Using_Unchained

I recall you had CloudFlare at some point and before that we had IPFS node we could run ourselves to support the BiblePay file hosting network.

The sanctuaries sync the sidechain metadata (this points a BBP transaction to a BIPFS transactionID), and the data itself (the file data is on S3).  (Until the day we have a multicity s3-raid drive created by multiple sanctuaries).

Hosting the files ourselves is not really a viable option - except for small amounts - since a 40gb sanctuary is not going to put a dent in the storage reqs.  We have 16 terabytes of Christian content already, and this way S3 can handle an influx of large storage reqs.

With Unchained, today in production, you can upload a 400 meg video through biblepay, and pay for it, and it will successfully host for a year over multiple regions.

I don't know if it'd be possible but an anonymous & private stablecoin would be a unique offering. They've busted more than few crime rings laundering money with BTC, or illegal trades online that paid with BTC. FBI just love crypto to track people down using all the global exchanges to confirm the chain of custody.

Hmm, interesting idea -- one other thing you could tie into it is some type of key that cant be broken by quantum computers.
The question is though, even if you pulled off a completely private and untraceable chain, what would the stance of that community be when the Feds and SEC make a rule that that coin cannot be traded without a KYC (IE the way BTC deposits must go through AML dumps from coinbase etc).  Im sure the trading could occur on anonymous exchanges, but I wonder if the big govts like China and the US will ever block ports on coins that are privacy coins.

Is it okay to upgrade explorer early to v1.5.2.1?

Hi Togo,

Yes-- please go ahead -- we have uploaded the binaries also.

I am working on a last minute document and I believe the release will be out in a couple more hours.

Thanks,
Rob

yes. W10 64bit.
And BTW, it installed in same directory as proper BBP and my BBP standard wallet is in new version...
Is that problem?

Normally, it would be, but Ill explain why not.
A) The location of the install directory is set by you.  So what I usually do is install testnet builds in my program files\testnet directory (for the EXE) on windows then I run them with the -conf=biblepaytest.conf when I test them, just to ensure my binary never gets mixed with the current prod binary.  Then you can test on your home windows box without a problem.
B) You have to normally be careful not to run a testnet version against your prod wallet (and your prod blockchain files).  As testnet versions contain new params and stuff and could corrupt them.  So thats why I always start the testnet version pointing to a different -conf file switch.
C) In the case of today however, this version passed test and is being released to prod so its OK if you ran it against your prod files - as it will be in prod in a few days anyway.
D) I still recommend overwriting your Prod version with the version that will be announced on the forum thread tomorrow, because, that version has an extra spork in it for APM.  Your testnet only works for a certain # of days in prod etc.

But feel free to do any more testing if you want, but I didnt have a lot of responses over the last 75 days so I had to unit test all of it in order to get it out today.

I want to get it out because we have some things that need to get started in prod (POOS etc).

What I mean is testing is still valuable for BIPFS, etc.

Hi.
So, I've tried to run testnet BBP and I have problem to connect.
I have 1521, but don't know if it's 1521b, or not. I've downloaded it few hours back from first post of this thread.
I'm stucked on block 51851.
I've tried clean install, blockchain delete, ... but nothing worked. Still stucked.
Any idea?
Sorry, I forgot to deploy it.

Please try downloading now.

Hi Orbis, is this windows version?

Whew! Okay, thank you. I've been around this project since 2018, and usually I'm more of a lurker and just mining in the background, but I try to keep up with major changes.

Hi Leetlezee,

So far I have this for the 1.5.2.1 release - which is scheduled to come out today:
https://wiki.biblepay.org/September_2020_Upgrade

If anyone can think of something I missed please let me know.

I think that, as many fiat currencies start melting down, cryptos are going to be considered as a more acceptable reserve of value and income generation tool.

So I think this is a really great idea.

Also if the idea is successful, we could even replicate the mechanism to a multi-collateral backed rewards using other top-tier Masternode coins (PiVX, ZCoin, SmartCash...) or even non-MN coins.

Thanks, and I enjoyed the discussion we had about custom tailored crypto portfolios, long hedge portfolios in crypto, the equiv of a DJIA in crypto, passing the howey test, self directed portfolio management decisions, DAI, Maker, stablecoins, interest rate supply and demand, and a solid biblepay use case (and revenue generation model).

Let's hope from these discussions we can actually design a next generation use case, similar to DeFi, but for the bitcoin side.

144
Are BBP sanctuaries and DASH masternodes eligible for DASH-DWS?

BBP Sancs and Dash sancs are blocked from using those UTXOs (as its pretty much considered double dipping).

145
I must have missed an announcement... but what is this message about on the add Fractional Sanctuaries page?

"Investment not accepted

Sorry, our fractional sanctuaries are currently being upgraded to POOS. Please try back on September 1st, 2020."

Is there a link to details on the POOS upgrade?

Yeah, the mandatory upgrade is close to being released.  So you didn't actually miss it.

Let me post the wiki for POOS, and, please check back in a couple hours and I'll post the mandatory upgrade info, etc.

Here is the POOS payment page:
https://wiki.biblepay.org/Sanctuary_Child_Sponsorship

I will create a page for the September mandatory upgrade.

Ultimately it just come back around to control. They've realized that the nature of crypto is actually way easier to track than cash. But they don't want decentralized crypto (especially privacy coins), they want to keep it centralized and have control over the exchanges.

Yeah, exactly, and, I think it will be the only way to usher in the New World Order, and, the Beast system.

Can't get to 100%. I erased the chain data and left just wallet.dat . I've gotten to the same place twice.

Just out of curiosity can you please check if your download of mac was from today?
I found the 1.5.2.1 release was bad and we re-released today with a couple changes.

Once you reinstall, please sync from zero, as llmqs have changed since our last testnet session(s).

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,
Unsure why this happens, but this is the second or third time I have seen it since mining on Foundation. The BBP awards are down to less than 50 BBP per cycle right now, sometimes less than 5. I was receiving 300+ for weeks, sometimes as much as 1K+. Is it just cyclical and the wallet catches up after a while? My worker address is:
BG4qhDsU8oDWp9ZN42Q395KJvUFvupZGM8
Also, I have not seen any funding from posting yet. Is there a cache that will pay out after a certain amount is "earned"? Thanks for your help in understanding this cryptocurrency mining thing!

Answering the mining question separately:

So, I think the easiest way to investigate this is to split the problem up into Percentage of HashPower per solved block (in contrast to payment total received per frequency as I think you are talking about your HPS reward in general and not that you are not receiving mining rewards in general).

The block history report shows that you are averaging about .005% of each solved block, and we solved 14 blocks over the last 50 blocks, giving you about 8-12 BBP per solved block.
First of all does that hashrate, (5000 HPS or so) should be correct (each block is 2708 bbp subsidy).  If so I think everything else falls into line (please see this report by typing your address in :
http://foundation.biblepay.org/BlockHistory

The reason the payments were so much higher last week, I believe is the foundation was giving away 1000-5000 extra bbp per block for promotion.  That temporarily stopped but I might start it again soon but I cant guarantee that it will be there as it comes out of my personal account.

In general I think you should be receiving the equivalent to bbp.miningpool.fun.

Hi Radar,

On the Forum reward bonuses of 1K each, I see the foundation has rewarded you 5*1K (5K) so that looks right.  The way they currently work is they go into your Forum account (please click Deposit report) and you will see them.  We could have sent them with individual tx's but I just did this to keep the tx qty down etc.

I have to look into the mining issue separately, please hang on.
