Archived Proposals / Re: Use Togo's Bitcointalk ANN Redesign
« on: December 05, 2018, 02:29:36 PM »
On the unmoderated topic, the ANN should have a huge link on page 1 to indicate the thread has moved.

And anyone that can edit posts there should also put in huge red text ANN thread has moved.
You should consider spamming it with keywords we want to show up for the moderated thread gets more exposure... like non-spammy coherent sentences linking to new ANN thread talking about orphan sponsorship, cpu mining, etc all the little benefits of joining BiblePay.

Try to milk the old ANN thread as much as you can.

After having some time handholding someone on Discord on PoDC, staking requirements, etc, I do acknowledge PoDC configuration is difficult for some people to grasp. I think PoG has potential, but if you decide to implement, it has to be done conservatively. This is why I'm pushing for PoG replacing PoBH first. PoDC could eventually be replaced too, but there's a lot of vested individuals. If you're going to alienate PoDC miners, you need at as much automated donations coming in through PoG to offset the PoDC attrition and the staked BBP that leaves with it. If you're going to set a ceiling on the monthly donation amount, perhaps PoG replacing PoBH can work.

If you had an embedded BOINC manager in BiblePay QT, then new users could register and start crunching with fewer steps. All the stuff with CPID registration can be automated. PoDC Updates can be used to send pending registrants the 1 BBP they need to register their CPID. If there are 20 pending registrants, then the next round of PoDC updates sends a cumulative 20 BBP amongst all submitting PoDC updates. Or make CPID registration cost 0.001 BBP so it costs even less BBP during PoDC updates.

SmartCash allows voting based on your wallet balance. Not ideal, but we could certainly have a "poll" section in the QT wallet where one vote can be made per wallet for a question. I think GridCoin has a polling feature too which I like.

> Again, my vote is stay the course.

I'm in agreement here. I think PoG should really be focused on replacing proof of work (PoBH). Get rid of pool mining and just allow solo mining through PoG. That removes the headache of setting up proof of work mining. Once you replace PoBH with PoG, Phase 2 can consider reducing PoDC payout and migrating it to PoG. Its not clear how many PoDC BOINCers will also use PoG or just leave BiblePay altogether. Therefore, PoDC can have a slow transition of 80 days 80 PoDC / 20 PoG split becomes 0 PoDC / 100 PoG.

During the 80 days, you can have a strong marketing & PR push to recruit new people to BiblePay and you just have to explain PoG. PoG is still too complicated to understand, so the algorithm has to change or you have to rewrite it so you can ELI5 (Explain Like I'm 5).

Why does a good samiritan want to join BiblePay when there are vehicles outside of BiblePay to give without expecting something in return? Its far simpler to put down a recurring monthly credit card or bank transfer than to deal with a crypto wallet. I guess you'd have to explain how to attract a crowd that would find joining BiblePay (even with PoG) far more difficult than just doing a recurring payment elsewhere.

@Rob - How is PoG going to work with recurring tithing? Is this going to be a superblock daily (e.g. 205 blocks?) and not actually a 24 hour day? The drift and 7 minute average blocks are not conducive to a 24 hour day y'know.

Do archived links have the same URL? I agree with fresh proposals, but if they are recurring proposals (Kairos, Compassion, etc) then linking to past proposals is not a bad idea.

Since BBP has staking requirement (generally 20 BBP for 1 RAC), that's enough of a barrier to participation.

Looks like some translation was previously done for Spanish. Maybe just the BitcoinTalk announcement?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2804806

If BiblePay.org decides to be multi-lingual, you can take all the translations and include them as a starting point.

Business objects in production

Compassion.com & Kairos right click navigate to works great.

For some reason, BLOOM right click navigate to doesn't do anything.

If I type the Bloom URL manually in Chrome 69, it displays okay. Using Windows 10 Pro, Chrome 69, BiblePay 1.1.5.9

WPML or Polylang are two plugins for multilingual WordPress

https://wpml.org/ (paid)
https://wordpress.org/plugins/polylang/ (free)

Both offer integrated professional translation services (paid) or community based translators (e.g. Fixer for Spanish) that can be assigned pages to translate.

I appreciate Fixer wants to translate Spanish and there are free ways to set this up on on biblepay.org

There's nothing to stop someone from creating their own Spanish speaking community. But if the translator wants to contribute to existing infrastructure, s/he does not have to worry about running a web site and keep the focus on translation.

Based on Google Analytics, the most needed translation is Russian & Chinese. Hopefully, we can find other people willing to translate for those languages.

However, I think Sun might be falling dangerously close in the same category I describe above:  Hes causing investor damage and hurting our orphan relationships.  Sun, you need to tone it down on the public forum, lest the same fate happens to you as Slovakia.  Please don't follow in his footsteps.

I will put your behavior in context. Your behavior was abhorrent before I arrived. I believe it will continue to be whether I am here or not unless you change your ways. I believe you can not truly see yourself and have a delusional view of who you are.
