Acts 23 Bible Study Questions

Acts 23:6-10 What are some ways that Christianity is different from all other religions? How does the resurrection give hope even when facing dire circumstances?

Acts 23:15 Talk about a time when you have been treated wrongly. How have you responded? What kind of response pleases God? How does knowing God is in control enable us to respond rightly?

Acts 23:11 What are some of the promises that God gives to us that will encourage us in difficult times? Look these up and read them together. Which is most encouraging to you personally?

Acts 23:12-22 Talk about the difference between providence (protective care of God) and miracles. Which is God’s normal way of accomplishing His will? How does that give us confidence in difficulties?

Acts 23:23-35 Discuss the goodness of God. What does it mean to say that God is good? What are the evidences of His goodness? Can you see His goodness even in bad times?

Application:

Pray for strength to trust God in situations when you are wronged so that your witness might give glory to God
Pray for someone who needs to know Jesus as Savior
Thank the Lord for the peace and comfort that He has given to you.
Pray that you can rest in His control in the difficulties you face this week.
Pray that you might see and give thanks to God for His goodness and mercy that are everlasting.

Acts 20 Bible Study Questions
18 Is it practical to be fully committed to the people in the church? What is probably different about Paul’s attitude from our own?
22-24, 28, 32, 36-38: How do these verses reveal Paul's love for the Ephesian believers and his trust in God? Are the activities of our life supporting our ministry or is our ministry just another one of life’s activities? Do we view what Christ has entrusted us as something we take out only a few times a week or do we see it as our full-time life? Are we living the Gospel to the degree that we can safely admonish others to their benefit? Or are we trying to turn attention away from our own weaknesses?Definitions: Pentecost - a Christian feast on the seventh Sunday after Easter commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostlesadmonish - to say (something) as advice or a warningcovet - to desire (what belongs to another) inordinately or culpably
Apostle Paul's Third Missionary Journey MapThe worship of Diana is so well-known and universally accepted that, according to the clerk, there was no danger of it being destroyed by the evangelist and what he taught. The clerk CHIDES the crowd for their unreasonable fears and warns them there are consequences if they continue being disorderly! The riot soon disperses. Paul leaves the city and journeys to Macedonia. During his three month stay in the region he visits Corinth (Acts 20:1 - 3) and writes his letter to the Romans.58 A.D.The apostle Paul and company travel back through Macedonia to Troas, where they keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Acts 20:6). On his last day at Troas he preaches and teaches until late in the night. Listening to him is a young man sitting in a window. The man soon goes into a deep sleep and dies when he falls from the window to the street below. The evangelist immediately goes to the young man, embraces him, and he comes back to life! (Acts 20:7 - 11).After the Feast Luke and a few others sail from Philippi and meet Paul in Troas. Although Luke and several others decide to sail from Troas to Assos, Paul chooses to walk to the city (Acts 20:13 - 14). In Assos the entire group takes a ship to Mitylene (Acts 20:14). From Mitylene they sail past the islands of Chios and Samos, dock for a night at Trogyllium, then eventually arrive at Miletus (Acts 20:15).

Miletus was considered the greatest and wealthiest of Greek cities.   It was important in the founding of the Greek colony of Naukratis in Egypt and founded more than 60 colonies on the shores of the Black Sea.  [/c][/t]From Miletus the apostle requests that the elders in the Ephesian church visit him. When they arrive he warns them about the coming apostasy in the church (Acts 20:26-31).Source: http://www.walkwiththeword.org/Studies/02_NT/44_Acts/44_Acts_20.17-38.html

Acts 19 Bible Study Questions
19:1-7: Paul encounters some disciples. Describe their interaction and what instruction Paul gives them.
Describe the importance of Christian baptism. (There would be a public confession of the inward transformation that took place when they decided to become followers of Christ.)
Paul took the time to find out about these new believers, and in the process, he was able to help them to a deeper relationship with God. It’s been said that “ministry flows best through relationships.”
Have you ever been helped in your faith when someone took the time to find out about your relationship with God?
Have you ever helped someone else grow in their relationship with God by pointing out a truth to them that they didn’t know yet?

19:11-12: Does God still do miracles similar to those described in these verses? If not, why do you think it does not occur?

19:13-16: What methods did some of the Jews try to use to defeat evil spirits?
19:17-20: How did God use their tactics to bring others to faith in Jesus? What good came about in verse 20?
What are some prominent false religions? As Christians, how are we supposed to react to those with differing beliefs than our own?

How do we respond with the idea that “all roads lead to God”?

Any thought on voting with BBP on proposals even though we do not own masternodes? SmartCash lets your vote on proposals with your current balance. whether you have masternode or staking for PoDC, you get equal vote.

Or less controversial.. the ability to vote on polls like GridCoin that is not financial (charity, it, pr, etc). It would make poll voting in the QT wallet rather than this forum. This would allow greater participation

I'm asking for 180k BBP for 3 months Jan-Feb-Mar 2019 for user support (Telegram, Discord, BTC Talk, forum.biblepay.orgetc) and time for TestNet testing, feedback, etc.

I'm hoping to use the proposal system partially as a budgeting tool for future work. If not approved, there's no expectation for my participation in assisting users and testing the wallet software for usability, bugs, feedback, etc.

$1/day for 90 days taking 8 day average.

Now that you have send BBP by e-mail, I wonder what it'd take to build a BBP system based on SMS & phone numbers? Android & iOS app could be set up to send payment to contacts (either e-mail or phone number). It would go with the theme of helping the unbanked. SMS support would be even cooler, but I don't know anything about telephony servers or what's involved with SMS, but cointext.io has a limited rollout globally that supports Bitcoin Cash & DASH. I could see BiblePay leveraging IPFS as a smartphone app, but maybe SMS is a more difficult challenge.

I know Twilio has some awesome API & hooks and they can be used globally... there's a cost to using and maintaining the service. $1/mo for phone numbers and a cost for sending/receiving messages. It is a centralized service so I don't know how far such an idea would evolve with BiblePay.

Archived Proposals / QT wallet: Prayer Request Enhancement
« on: September 13, 2018, 02:31:15 PM »
Prayer Request Enhancement.

I'd like a messaging systems (see attachments) where we could prayer for people.

In Overview or another tab listing prayers most recent at top, we could reply to requests via a button we click.

Charge 0.1 BBP per character and message is delivered to person sending prayer request.

This way, as a community we are praying for each other.

* If you want to increase utility or bring scale, maybe a more robust decentralized messaging system would be good too.
* To discourage spamming, maybe introduce smart fee. Charge more to send more messages in a short period of time.
* I wouldn't want prayer replies or requests in blockchain if possible to reduce bloat? Maybe mempool only, IPFS, or sidechain?

Hello, this is my first proposal write up so please be gentle!  :)

TL;DR: Requesting 69k BBP for Telegram Airdrop Support

I helped Jaap with Airdrop support. Our time zones are 9 hours apart. This allowed me to provide coverage while he got some restful sleep hopefully.

Questions were mainly about faucet, boinc setup (PoDC), cpid registration, and PoBH mining.

I broke down my time based on 0.1 hour increments or 6 minutes at a rate of $20 USD.

Enhancements in Development / Twitter summary cards
« on: August 01, 2018, 11:23:56 AM »
It has come to my attention that the images auto-selected by Twitter for https://biblepay.org is not ideal.

You will see BiblePay's default is a money bag. See attachment. Not a good look on Twitter.

If you look at Compassion.com as an example, they have a filipino girl as the card image.

We can set a different image for Twitter to use. This is explained in more detail here: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/optimize-with-cards/overview/summary.html

This is what Compassion.com's code looks like. You put the meta tags in the head section before the body tag:

Quote
<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image" />
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Make helping the poor part of your legacy. Start by sponsoring a child today." />
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Sponsor a Child - Compassion International" />
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@compassion" />
<meta name="twitter:domain" content="www.compassion.com" />
<meta name="twitter:image:src" content="http://www.compassion.com/multimedia/sponsor-a-child-smiling-filipino-girl.jpg" />
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@compassion" />

Worse case, an image like this is certainly better than the money bag: http://pool.biblepay.org/images/180180.png

Ideally, a custom image that fits the square and summarizes the goal of BiblePay would be better. An image that conveys Jesus call to help the poor.
