I can see both sides of the argument, Alex makes a good point, 616 makes a good point about choosing to be a free service or not (otherwise its a conflict of interest).  And I guess yet another way to look at it is: If we pay for this proposal in the sense that it is for the startup costs for graphics design, but his profit pays for his stores eternal existence in the future (as long as he doesnt Gouge users) well I guess that is yet another way.

I personally think the store itself is a good addition out in the world at large, but I strongly feel we should delete a few of the items, as I think they have a negative impact on our brand:

Kill:
- Beer Pong Table
- Party Hat
- Keyboard looks like a toy and has bad graphics

Strong Fix:
- The Jesus Value quality shirt with Jesus' thumbs up:  This is not very good looking with Jesus posing as a cartoon character, and I think he looks like a Genie or something- but this particular shirt could be very, very nice with one that is professional
- Use a different image for the womans leggings

Add:
- Hell is Real, somehow tie to BBP

Fix:
- Football Jersey could have a better design, I almost ordered this but I dont like how the logo floats up in the chest, not sure how to fix it, but that caused me to buy the standard Tshirt instead

Good luck, and thank you for your contributions!

Archived Proposals / New Exchange Proposal - Add new Biblepay Exchange
« on: January 25, 2018, 06:46:01 PM »
Zthomasz, Tom, has spearheaded the initiative to get us listed on a new exchange, possibly Yobit, SouthXchange, or NEXT, or one of the top 50 bitcoin exchanges.

Yobit has a policy where they will list a new coin for .10BTC within 7 days - but we have since discovered they are NOT honoring this agreement.

Tom has started a campaign that accepts USD funds for a new exchange here:
New Exchange Fee Fund Link:

Please post here if you would like to donate in BBP, post the amount so we can keep track of how much we raised.

Archived Proposals / PROPOSAL : Proof-Of-Loyalty
« on: January 20, 2018, 11:43:01 AM »
All, recently what appears to be either a harmless mining organization with a lot of nodes, or a botnet has taken over the majority of the hashpower of our network.

In an attempt to stave off the botnet, I propose an extension to our hash algorithm called proof-of-loyalty.

It makes our PoBH algorithm a hybrid, as the blocks become easier to solve as you accrue more coin-age.

Please see this wiki page for the background information and most technical information:

http://wiki.biblepay.org/Proof_Of_Loyalty

This feature also helps us straighten the path to eventually mine on mobile devices, as this miner will eventually solo mine a block with enough coin-age without much hashing.

I personally believe rewarding investors and our loyal community members with more rewards and the propensity to solve a block by those in the light will prove to be a positive addition to biblepay, and will allow us (to have) more control during the software upgrade process.

Although this feature has taken more than 40 hours to code in the core client, I am asking for a flat 100,000 BBP reward for this to be voted and merged in to the core client.

Im going to go ahead and start a new testnet thread for POL, so we can start nice and fresh.

I wish we had some feedback of updates from the project leads  if it's normal and we should just disregard .
We were told the "WAtchdog_Expired"  takes the MN off the queue and voting .
I had a couple of wins today though.
Well there are different levels of "down" in the core.  We are not deliberately lying :).

So there is Watchdog Expired, POSE ban, Expired with bbp_daemon not responding, watchdog_expired with bbp daemon up and watchman-down, and the mn_payment eviction, the Spork control for Watchdog enforcement, etc.

In our implementation currently, we only evict you from the payment queue if you do this:
- Leave BBP daemon off for 30 hours
- Change your IP
- Get yourself POSE banned by breaking sanc rules
- Spending the Sanc collateral

We do not ban you for:
- Leaving BBP Up while Watchdog Expires due to a watchman issue

So in a nutshell if you do pull your sanc down for more than 30 hours, rewards finally stop.

The queue is set up this way on purpose to keep people in the same positions in the queue.

Archived Proposals / Re: New Charity Organization - BLOOM
« on: January 07, 2018, 09:29:23 AM »
Really quick on two of the points as I believe they are mission critical:

Togo, on the "deficit" with Compassion, that $10k deficit was up to the day before I entered the 2.8M proposal for this superblock, so Yes, we would not only be paid up to date, but paid into the future, however, I do want to say this also:  The January payments are already almost due (they are due on the third friday of the month, around Jan 19, and our *next* superblock is not until February 7th, so keep that in mind also).  But to summarize this situation, one exception I make for record keeping with orphans, since its our core business, is I log every bitcoin transaction in Orphans|Fundraisers, and every expense paid to Compassion in Orphans|Expenses Paid.  So it will be extremely easy to see the state of Compassion in about 15 days.  The reason we have such a huge problem this month is we cant even withdraw the BTC we sold this month due to the ccex vacation.  Its just an extrordinarily complicated month.  But around the end of this month, all of that will be recorded in detail.

Regarding pre-payment, yes, Ive confirmed that is a risk and that we will not be adding new sponsorships to compassion, we will prepay them instead.  And I plan on using any surplus obtained this month for only prepaying them in the future.  But that is part of my point, we havent prepaid any yet, we have a $10k deficit, I havent withdrawn the BTC yet, and the $7100 bill is due in 10 days, so there is not really a ton going to prepayment(I think, we will see shortly).    Its not going to be a huge amount left over for it, as generally I crash the market when I sell these coins.  But with our higher price, lets see how it goes and we can regroup on it towards the end of the month.  My basic summary above-is it sounds reckless to pay anything higher than two new orphans until I see our state Has changed and we start generating surpluses.

130k of unburned coins yes, but we were overbudget in our departments.

Regarding free PR, this is just a question for new partnerships and leverage.  Its the same idea as what Fios will give you if you dont have fios.  They might give you free channels to sign up with them, but if you are existing customer, they wont give you anything.  We are existing customer of Compassion, so we can ask April for something free as we arent with Bloom yet.

Archived Proposals / Re: New Charity Organization - BLOOM
« on: January 06, 2018, 03:11:49 PM »
Although in general, I support expanding our ministry to multiple charities, however, I think there are a number of issues we currently have that bleed over into this proposal being paused or approved right off the bat.

1) We have a $10,000 deficit with Compassion and have not even minted our first superblock.
Why dont we wait for that to occur, before adding a new risk.  That occurs at block 24600.

2) We have 189 children with compassion who are not paid a cent in advance (IE if we miss next months payment we lose them all).  Some of us here like 616West have suggested that we pay at least 6 months into the future for these children, as it is really frowned upon to start up new sponsorships with kids from Bloom when we have not even paid a few months in advance with the kids we have committed to.

3) We dont even have an exchange online right now accepting bitcoins.  I think its a bad idea to set a precendent to ask for half of our charity budget right off the bat, when our price is uncertain.  Lets try to get a pulse on our average price after c-cex comes back online for a couple weeks first.

4) I think it would be a good idea to sponsor One orphan with bloom and see how the relationship works out.

5) Im not sure if Togo asked you about this, but here is one huge question.  We currently have IT integration where we can view an orphans Bio by clicking a link.  Would we receive IT integration with bloom for the one new orphan?  Could we write letters electronically?  Could the orphans handwritten letter/reply be stored as a PDF so our pool could show the inbound letter to the user?

6) I think the food program sounds a little pricey, why so much per month for a childs food program?

7) Is there any PR bloom could give us once we instantiate a relationship of more than 5 orphans per month?

Thanks!  I wonder if starting small will work!

Please dont take offense to these points, the problem is we are new and our currency is not worth a lot yet, so we have to be very cautious, and make our small amount go a long way.

God Bless you.

Rob

Archived Proposals / Re: Extra to Orphan Fund
« on: December 29, 2017, 08:22:59 AM »
I was thinking the same thing today about potentially putting this proposal in, and using it entirely to pay orphan premiums into the future.

Ill probably vote yes for this later today...after the smoke clears with the pool problem.

Great to have you on the team!

Its good to cover our bases and get our brethren up to speed - especially on the things I always take for granted  :P.

This looks pretty good...

You are asking for $1200.00 which should get us over 4 million views on google and 40,000 clicks.
We would need proof of your site getting over 1 million clicks per month and or why the value of the banner would be worth more than 100$ a month.

I dont even think the biblepay.org web site would be worth more than $20 a month with a banner on it right now, but please convince us.

I could see spending $50 on this however.

Archived Proposals / Faucet Refill
« on: December 26, 2017, 09:17:50 AM »
The pool at pool.biblepay.org has given out 159,000 BBP.

This is a proposal to reimburse the pool for 125,000 bbp to keep it funded so we can re-enable the faucet for more rewards for new users.

I would like to charge this to the P2P budget.

Will you consider the following revision:

1st order: Sponsor current orphans for another month.
2nd order: Repay "loan" from Dev (with accounting to help minimize critics as you've done)
3rd order: Part 1) Instead of sponsoring additional orphans, pay the current contracts forward.  Strive to have a full year pre-paid for each orphan.
3rd order: Part 2) The Compassion site says the average orphan is sponsored "usually through the school year in which the child reaches the age of 18 to 22".
I would like to see from Compassion a breakdown by our current orphans of what age they'll need sponsorship to.  Then sponsor each of our current orphans to their full age before adding any more.

The reason for all this is I don't want to see any orphans have to be dropped if the coin price drops greatly.  Nor do I want to see their lives disrupted if the majority of MN decide they like a different charity better.

Yes, Ill spend any excess by pre-paying some of the children's premiums into the future.

We will add a column called PrepaidPremiums to Expense and populate it after the fundraiser.

Thanks for the great ideas!

Archived Proposals / December 2017 IT expenses (payroll)
« on: December 20, 2017, 06:51:41 PM »
For the month of December I am attempting to recover IT expenses for web hosting, AWS integration, our wikipedia and some payroll.

The linux web hosting fee for one year for the non-wiki site (http://www.biblepay.org):
$140.58
http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/WebHostBiblepay2017.png

Next, the linux web hosting fee for one year for the wiki site (http://wiki.biblepay.org):
$63.83
http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/WebHostWiki2017.png

Next, the Zinc integration fee for October and November 2017 (did not receive the bill for December 2017 yet) - this allows us to integrate with the amazon storefront for in wallet purchases:
$200.00

http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/ZincOct2017.pdf
http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/ZincNov2017.pdf

Next I am only asking for 120 hours of payroll for doing the initial git push for biblepay at $40.00 per hour totaling $4800.00:
https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay
https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay/commits/master?after=db75cc7a1cfde21cf694dc882f731783f28a0ae7+34

(This is for programming time based on the commits checked in for the month of September 2017).

TOTAL:  $5204  from the IT budget
    Or
867,333 BBP (@ .0006 per bbp)

3690
Each month we sponsor approximately 188 orphans currently.
Rob, the lead dev charges the expense on his credit card, and keeps a copy of the receipt.
The expenses can be viewed by navigate to Accountability.biblepay.org | Expenses and viewing the December PDF.

Since inception, Rob has spent $30,161.00 for BiblePay orphan premiums.  This can be audited by viewing the sum of all payments using the above link.

Rob has only raised $19,671 in orphan fundraisers however.  See accountability.biblepay.org | Orphans | Orphan Fundraisers.  You can audit the total by finding the sum of all fundraisers.

This leaves a deficit of $10,490 owed to Rob for previous activity.
This $10,490 includes our current actual December 2017 invoice for $7,068.00, spent on 12-20-2017.

Receipt here:
http://pool.biblepay.org/SAN/Expenses/CompassionDec2017.pdf

Summary:

$19671 raised
$30161 spent
Out of the $30161, $7068 was for December 2017.

Therefore I am requesting 2894609 biblepay for December 2017 for reimbursement of these monthly premiums.

A new record will be logged as I sell the 2.8MM on the exchange, and anything over will be used to sponsor new orphan premiums (but based on 12 months for stability), so this proposal does not benefit Rob in any way shape or form.

I am committed to spending 100% of this proposals funded amount back into Charitable benefits for the orphans.
