Problem persists; I sent you more details over pm.

Ok, yes, I believe the bug is corrected in the socket class.

I will check this in during the next check-in for the foundation/pool.

Please, anyone having the connection issue, please retry now.

As you were replying I just got a piece of mesquite out for the grill (I cut mine with a chainsaw though).  I like saving up some mesquite, oak, hickory and cherry for grilling.

Thats great so far, lets hope we dont run out of sockets again.

Hi Rob,
Getting nothing from stratum+tcp://foundation.biblepay.org:3001, except 'read error: "connection reset by peer"'.
I was fine working with 5.10.0, but as soon as I tried XMRig 5.10.1, this happened. I tried to go back, but received the same.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Good to see you have migrated!

So it turns out the whole problem had very little to do with the socket exhaustion fix, but some type of special character.
I believe this has been fixed a couple mins ago; please try now.

If you have less than 100 machines, probably a special character on the server side that is handled properly.

Thank you!
Well actually on the forum, once we turned the medium level captcha on (this was part of SMF), the new spam accounts stopped.  It does bring up a good point though, we should go and clean up any old spam that got in back then - I just made a todo note for that.

No, in this case, this was specific to the foundations RX pool.  Some wiseguys were hitting certain ports (I believe for brute force hacking) and this left the ports open with TIME_WAIT which caused port exhaustion.  I figured out later that the default windows firewall had some ports for SAMBA enabled, and disabling those finally stopped that vulnerability.

We also had to add some ban rules in the pool that close sockets if they get abused.

I think its becoming stable now, God willing.

Stale share levels on the pool look normal, and the pool does use vardiff on 3001.

Please paste your bbpaddress and Ill look at the log.

I believe all we need to do is make two of the values update dynamically in the future.

Please test the math, seasoned miners.

At this point in the game, BBP pays twice as much as XMR to mine.

10-4 on the reinvest, yes if someone just moves the balance every month they will get almost the entire "compounded" effect.
So on this logout after a certain period, I partially know whats going on and I agree it would be nice to lengthen that duration.

The problem is broken into two parts:  During the last 7 days we had a lot of deploys, which resets the session.  Its finally becoming stable, so the session should become more stable, meaning you wont be getting logged out inadvertently.

On part 2, let me check to see the length of the sessions auto-expire.

The session should now last 4 hours.

It looks to me that it should be about right, the calculations that is. Been comparing them to my earnings and to me seems to be about the same.

So yeah nice addition to the Pool page there Rob!

Thanks a lot my friend.

Yea the main issue I found with it so far, is the foundation pool assesses the HPS higher than my machines actual HPS (even when taking into account BBP+XMR is double the hashpower), so soon I will need to calibrate the pool down a little bit HPS wise.  But in general its pretty close I think.
