Title: Ads - Google, Twitter, Facebook
Post by: togoshigekata on June 25, 2018, 06:50:52 PM
UPDATE:

I am requesting $300 from the PR budget, to run ads on Google, Twitter and Facebook for 1 month, each $3/day, afterwards I will report results.

$100 - Google Text Ads
$100 - Twitter Ads
$100 - Facebook Ads

$300 / $0.002448 per BBP = 122,549 BBP

====================================

http://adwords.google.com/

We can pay Google to show text and display ads of BiblePay

===

I did a little experimenting recently and setup a Text ad campaign with keywords:
- masternode
- cpu mining
- cpu mining coins
- jesus coin
- asic resistant

After 2 days, I have 12 clicks, 817 impressions and $6.18 cost
(Avg CPC [Cost Per Click] $0.52)

NOTE: My understanding is that Google may have banned Cryptocurrency ads?
my ad campaign passed as eligible and is running
I tried to stay away from the keyword cryptocurrency in everything

How the Ad Looks:

===

QUESTIONS:

- How much money should we start spending on Advertising?
(Ive contacted other popular crypto websites requesting pricing on ad space)

- How much should we spend on Google Adwords?
- Is Google Adwords worth using?

- Should we set up Display ad? (currently only testing Text ad)
- What should the Display ad look like?

- Do you know anyone, or someone we could hire, to help create quality ad graphics?

- What should be in the Text ad? Is the current Text ad okay?
- Are there other keywords that we should use?

If 50 cents per click is worth it I don't know. I don't have experience with these kinds of things.

I know a couple of designers. Shouldn't be a problem :)

$0.50 is pretty high for pay-per-click. It really depends on your competitors and how much you want to spend to show your ads on rotation and how quickly you want to burn through your budget. You could spend less. if you buy long-tail keywords (3 keyword+). Those clicks are cheaper and you can "work around the edges". Ultra targeted keywords with very low CPC (cost per click).

Do you have keywords from the web site log (referer.log)? You could look analyze the keyword traffic (excluding log spam) and see if you can build a word set based on those referral keywords.

The other website selling banner ad space is good for visibility ("brand awareness") for BBP, but this is hard to measure. What kind of sites are you looking to buy banner ad space on? Is it PPI (pay per impression) or PPC (pay per click)? I can see banner ads being effective if the web site is ultra focused. For example, mining web site and you could buy space to market the CPU only mining aspects of the coin. Maybe BOINC related websites for PoDC aspect.

Other ways to build awareness is to create more content for biblepay.org . The forum (not btc talk) is a no-brainer.

Try Google Search Console
www.google.com/webmasters/
Do you own forum.biblepay.org? Get indexing and ranking data from Google.

I used cryptotrafficrank website to help go through top 100 crypto websites, and also included a few other sites
https://www.cryptotrafficrank.com/

Advertising Links & Cost
https://i.imgur.com/KGzNSSP.png
(https://i.imgur.com/KGzNSSP.png) (https://i.imgur.com/KGzNSSP.png)

Thomas just posted that Facebook lifted their Crypto ad ban, we should jump on that.

Unfortunately I do not own any biblepay websites, Ill have to talk to Rob.

- $4-10 CPM (cost for 1,000 impressions) (Most popular sizes: 728x90. 300x600, 300x250)
- $350-800 Press releases
- $1,000-1,500 Sponsored Story

My goal is to get us to start experimenting with advertising, especially if we have extra funds in the budget,
goal is to get more users, more buyers, more awareness

Currently, my main target audience is still people who are already into/familiar with cryptocurrency

I have admin-access to the biblepay.org (Wordpress) backend, but there doesn't seem to be any analytics plugin installed and I can't seem to find the referer.log you are talking about (any tips?).

For the new site (which will hopefully go online withing a week) I will probably use google analytics and SEO-plugins to gather data and improve our ranking.

I don't have administrator rights to forum.biblepay.org. That's Rob I guess.

why dont run "bounty or airdrop campain" and give people some BBP for twiting, sharing and that stuff, later bibplepay will rank up on Search Engine. We need SEO...

If you want to learn about SEM/SEO (search engine marketing, search engine optimization), a six month forum access to supporters forum is an inexpensive investment to learn and discuss:

https://www.webmasterworld.com/donate.htm

I subscribed for a few years when I was running on my own ecommerce site selling business equipment. It helped me a lot with DIY SEO and pay-per-click advertising.

I can't seem to find the referer.log you are talking about (any tips?).

it might be under /var/log/apache/referer.log

i'm not familiar with wordpress (i don't think they provide keyword analysis out of the box and requires a plugin). I'll ask a friend who is a wordpress host provider so he can recommend some tools for future analysis.

you can burn through money quickly online advertising... so my point is to educate yourself and go slowly. i think bitcointalk forum is likely the best source of crypto friendly traffic.

This is my potential Google keyword research so far:

the NO list are keywords that when I tested adding them, werent approved right away like all the other keywords, so Id get scared and remove them

Code: [Select]
NO:

dash cryptocurrency,
cpu cryptocurrency,
cpu only cryptocurrency,
bitcoin mining,
cryptocurrency mining,
crypto mining,
altcoin,

====

YES:

masternode,
masternode coins,

best coin for cpu mining,
best cpu mining coin,
cpu coin,
cpu mining,
cpu mining coins,
cpu mining profitability,
cpu only mining,

asic resistant,
groestlcoin,
vertcoin,

altcoin mining,

dash,
dash coin mining,
dash mining,
dash wallet,
dash coin mining,

christ coin,
jesus coin,

coins of the bible,
scripture coins,

einsteinium,
curecoin,
foldingcoin,
charity coin,

gridcoin,
gridcoin mining,
grcpool,
buy gridcoin,
gridcoin pool,

boinc,
boinc coin,
boinc gridcoin,
boinc manager,
boinc projects,
rosetta home,

Interestingly, only a few of these keywords get a vast majority of traffic, in order of most traffic:
dash >>>> masternode >>>>>>>> dash wallet, jesus coin,  altcoin mining, cpu mining >> masternode coins

If anyone has other keyword ideas, just let me know!
Google Adwords is neat, I just played around with their Keyword Planner tool.

===

Also good news, I contacted owner of the BiblePay Facebook page, an old miner named Matt,
got him to add me as an admin, and then I added Jaap as an Admin,
I cleaned up the page a little and added some pictures, Ill try to start posting any Twitter updates to Facebook as well,
If anyone is interested to be an admin or moderator of the Facebook page, just let me know!

I started poking around the Facebook Advertising stuff

right now the ad is "in review"

UPDATE: My ad was rejected lol

I think another angle could be retirement, recurring income (via masternodes), charity, bible, biblical... I think there is some opportunity here to obfuscate the crypto technology part while amplifying the charity aspect. It has to be done in a safe, transparent way though... so we don't come off a sheisters...

Easy 'yes' :) I'm curious about the results. I liked the twitter-results. Quite a few subscribers came from that advertising trial.

I was also thinking about how to get noticed on big crypto-news websites. Do we have to write official press-releases for that, or does a journalist have to notice us?

I have no experience whatsoever with this field. But I think April does. Maybe she knows someone who can facilitate this?

UPDATE:

=== Facebook
Still no response, submitted application over 2 weeks ago

=== Google
Click Campaign
$116 Spent
120 Clicks, $0.97 CPC (Cost per Click), 2.08% Click Through Rate
5.76k Impressions

=== Twitter
Followers Campaign
$103.74 Spent
224 Follows (1.11% Follow rate) $0.46 Cost per Follow
20,182 Impressions (about ~$5 CPM)

==

Twitter and Google will just eat up the rest of the Facebook budget

These are Click and Follow campaigns, I want to test Impression and Display Ad campaigns next time

Twitter - Follow Campaign
$141 - 38,247 impressions - 301 Follows ($0.47 cost per Follow)
(https://i.imgur.com/LeYgC4C.png) (https://i.imgur.com/LeYgC4C.png)

Google - Click Campaign
$167.66 - 6,920 impressions, 163 Clicks ($1.03 cost per Click)
(https://i.imgur.com/5kvaMtW.png) (https://i.imgur.com/5kvaMtW.png)
https://i.imgur.com/5kvaMtW.png

Spent $308.66

For Google I need to utilize negative keywords more, I think the cost per click is kind of expensive, I would like to try a display  (awareness) campaign (CPM) next and I will need a good graphic design

For Twitter I think the cost per follower is cheap and we should keep utilizing it, but I would also like to do an Awareness campaign (CPM)

NOTE: CPM = cost per 1,000 impressions

Also good news, Facebook responded back, the next step is proving that we own biblepay.org website

Nice work. I agree that the google clicks are a bit expensive, but I like that we got 300+ followers extra with Twitter.

If you need a design: let me know what you're looking for and I'll see what I can do.
Also: if I can do anything in terms of proving ownership of the website, just let me know!

Wow $1 a click. You should shoot for something closer to $0.03 a click. Work around the edges more. Focus on three or more keyword combos. Your one word and two word phrases is going to be more competitive and will burn through the budget really quickly. Try to pace it out so you can advertise for the full 30 days.

What are the keywords you are using?
Title: Re: Ads - Google, Twitter, Facebook

Cost per Click/Engagement/Follow (CPC) is always going to cost more than Cost per Impressions/Views (CPM)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay-per-click
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_per_impression

Google Ads campaign isn't running after funding ran out, It was CPC on search network,
I want to test CPC and CPM on display network also

"The average Cost per Click (CPC) in AdWords across all industries is $2.69 for search and $0.63 for display."

The original keyword list is up above in previous post,
these are the keywords that got clicks:
(https://i.imgur.com/IgKSfx8.png) (https://i.imgur.com/IgKSfx8.png)

Now the bigger question is, to know if CPC is worth it, out of the people who clicked, how many started mining? made an investment? told other people about us? I believe typical conversion rate in ecommerce  (how many people bought something after clicking an ad) is 1-3%, so lets say its 2% for us, so ~160 clicks (at ~$160) we probably got at least 3 investors/miners (so ~$53 each!), theres not really an easy way for us to track conversions (windows wallet download button?)

"CPA (Cost per Acquisition) benchmarks vary by industry and channel, but the average CPA for pay per click (PPC) search (across industries) is $59.18 while display (across industries) is just slightly higher at $60.76."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_per_action

You want your quality score to be higher otherwise you are getting poor leads. Looks like cpu mining and masternodes. Do you think there are any angles on the orphans or non-profit angle that may be less competitive?

In eCommerce, CPA can be a special landing page only that can be reached after you finish purchasing a product or service. For BiblePay, maybe joining the newsletter or participating in airdrop is a measurable action?  The other questions you have are good ones, but how to track/measure those questions is a big challenge.

Advertising Status:

Bitcointalk Ads - Rejected Twice
Reddit Ads - Banned
Twitter Ads - Banned (ran temporarily)
Facebook Ads - Banned (pending review)
Google Ads - Banned (can still run, avoiding certain keywords)

I need to talk to Theymos again, we are waiting on Facebook, and Google is stopped

There are a lot of other crypto websites we can use to advertise

Also we can improve SEO on biblepay.org wordpress site with Yoast plugin and Google Analytics

Title: Re: Ads - Google, Twitter, Facebook

Personally, I think advertising is important, but content is more important. You write content once and it can give you traffic for many years. Advertising is temporary and you have to keep paying for it. If you don't have a big budget, then content writing is going to pay off long-term.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't have access to that part of the server (maybe Rob can post the log if he reads this). But I'll install an analytics plugin on the new website (probably Google Analytics, but if your friend has any suggestions I'm happy to hear them).

Thank you for your advice, you seem to be knowledgeable in this field :)

I started out selling stuff on eBay, then ran my own ecomm shop for 10 years. I know a little about SEO, pay-per-click, analytics.
There's a WordPress plugin called GA Google Analytics by Jeff Star -- this will put analytics on WordPress if you are not tracking visits already. Then in analytics.google.com (does Togo have access?) , you go to Acquisition > Overview and then click on Referral (see attachment). That tells you which web sites biblepay is receiving traffic from. This can help you see if your advertising is paying off or not.

This is my potential Google keyword research so far:

the NO list are keywords that when I tested adding them, werent approved right away like all the other keywords, so Id get scared and remove them

For the NO list on the keywords, we can write our own content on the web site with a BiblePay angle. Targeted keywords are best as they will lead to conversions (lower hanging fruit). Ideally, lower number of search results means we can place better organically.

9.6M cpu cryptocurrency,
3.9M cpu only cryptocurrency,
20M altcoin, 34M dash cryptocurrency,
76M cryptocurrency mining,
80M bitcoin mining,
108M crypto mining,

found some other keyword phrases that can traffic to biblepay.not sure if you want articles on a separate domain pointing back to biblepay.org or biblepay.org will host the written articles.
we can easily rank well for search results under 100k. you write a few good articles and you can rank easily for it.
