Mining - Resolved Issues / Re: Solo mining problems
« on: April 26, 2020, 05:46:14 PM »
It actually did, being more comprehensive. Thx a a lot

solo mining is not very efficient according to Rob and you miss out on the xmr hashing but utilizing the pool instead.

Please read and if you have any concerns or proposed changes or if you feel this does not cover one of our processes please let us know.

Continuity plan is well thought out. I was concerned about the POOM to RandomX migration, but your generosity takes care of that until the end of the calendar year. Hopefully, by then, RandomX earnings will be able to support the orphans.

Everything looks fine. I suggest mining for 24 hours and looking at the grand total shares solved by the machine for bbp and xmr.

Yeah, I think the issue is on my end. I think I may need to restart my computer then only run the miner. When I tried yesterday with just 1 thread, the SSD was paging to the disk constantly and that's not the right setup I think. I appreciate you checking.

Nice job on the new build. Would you consider giving us lower difficulty sooner? My i5 can't seem to handle 50k difficulty and takes 5-10 minutes before going down to 10k which seems more manageable. I don't know how difficulty works exactly with RandomX but that's been my experience on my lowly computer.

** BBP-Xmrig 5.10.1 - Mandatory Upgrade for Miners **

- Remove automatic tithing from the miner

* Note:  The old version of the miner tithes 10%.  Please start using the new version, as the pool now holds back the 10% orphan-tithe automatically.

Sanctuary Discussions / Re: Fractional sanctuary (shared masternode)

Hi, I tried the fractional sanctuary with 10,000 BBP and I earn 9.80 BBP per day for 8 days. It works very well.
I intend to invest in this 100k, 200k, then 1M, 2M ...
Automatic reinvestment is a good idea but at the investor's choice, with a check box for example.

If you write a review about frac sanc, I have a bounty for 2500 BBP set up for writing up a small review. Please DM me, say this is for frac sanc bounty, proof you receive sanctuary reward for several days (screenshot of earnings but amount can be hidden/excluded), and your BBP address.

Do you know what operating system the server must be for the new pool?

** Pool Operator updates **

We will soon be retiring our Nomp pools, due to the fact that these pools cannot enforce orphan charity correctly.

If you are or want to be a pool operator please look into our c# pool which will be open sourced this weekend.
Currently, the c# pool is the only pool biblepay supports with RandomX.

Please keep an eye on this forum for software updates, as this is the official place for software update notices.

We will be issuing a mandatory upgrade for our BBP Xmrig miner later today.  This update primarily consists of a change that removes the orphan charity tithe from the miner.

The pool will automatically collect the tithes going forward.

I tried it out and it works. So far, I've gotten two daily rewards. The login requires 2FA (Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, DUO, etc) which adds a nice layer of security. All the adds & removes were immediate. All the withdrawls showed up on my wallet immediately. The deposits of course require a few confirms which is to be expected. :)  The only thing I wish for is an auto reinvest feature, but I'm happy to visit the fractional sanctuary and add BBP whenever I get to it.

Fractional sancs are now ready to test at foundation.biblepay.org.

Note that I plan on making a cool dashboard that shows a gauge of the ROI (kind of like GIN had), and the current daily ROI and stuff, but have not gotten a chance to do it yet.
But the basics should work now - and the rewards are live.  (We have one sanctuary in the farm - that I am lending to the foundation for this project, and of course we support unlimited scalability as we grow).

So here is how you test it:
- Ensure you have a credit balance
- Navigate to Fractional Sancs
- Populate the amount you want to invest, and click Add fractional sanc.
- Wait 24 hours
- Then you should see a daily reward appear in the list, and your Foundation balance should increase.

So the main point of this is to not only let the small investor buy a fraction of a sanc and earn rewards, but also for someone on southexchange to easily create an account and a position in 5 minutes and hold it in biblepay to get the 40% ROI, etc.

Sanctuary Discussions / Fractional sanctuary (shared masternode)
« on: April 17, 2020, 11:27:57 AM »
On foundation.biblepay.org there's a new feature called fractional sanctuary. It is the same as a shared masternode, where your BBP earns a daily reward as if you have a full 4.55M BBP sanctuary. I tried it out and it works. So far, I've gotten two daily rewards.

The login requires 2FA (Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, DUO, etc) which adds a nice layer of security.

Once you deposit your BBP, you can add any amount to the fractional sanctuary. The amount you have in there earns a percentage, currently it is at 35%. If you need to remove BBP from the fractional sanc, you need to remove from the fractional sanc, then withdraw the BBP. All of this was immediate.

The only thing I wish for is an auto reinvest feature, but other than that, this is working great.

General Support - Solved / Re: PODC setup
« on: April 16, 2020, 08:47:40 PM »
Just for anyone who will have the same issue in the future. The problem was that I didn't have at all BBP coins in my CPK address (although I had BBP coins in my wallet, but through another receiving address). I transfered some of these coins to my CPK address and things worked correctly after some time.

One last question. What happens if my wallet is not running for one or more days? Will I lose the PODC rewards of these days? Or will they be sent cumulatively to my wallet the next time the wallet sends the staking transaction or I issue the transaction manually (I think through "sendgscc wcg")?

wallet should be running 24/7 so it is available when the gsc transmission is scheduled to be sent out

1) Closed BiblePay wallet (I am on Windows 10)
2) Made backup of my wallet.dat from  %appdata%\BiblePay
3) Removed BiblePay wallet from my computer
4) Renamed (and didn't remove, just in case anything went wrong) the directory  %appdata%\BiblePay
5) Reinstalled BiblePay wallet
6) Started BiblePay wallet, which recreated the directory  %appdata%\BiblePay
7) Waited to synchronize
 8) Closed BiblePay wallet
9) Copied my original wallet.dat back to  %appdata%\BiblePay
10) Started again BiblePay wallet

Everything seems to be working now.

If you went beyond the block height before you switch to 1507, then you would have been on a sidechain not recognized by the 1507 network, exchanges, etc.

You would have needed to start the chain again: https://whitewalr.us/2019/biblepay-erasechain-not-reindex.html

Archived Proposals / Re: Social media login for forum
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:29:20 PM »
If we have a social media login feature for this forum, more people can communicate easily.

https://docs.oneall.com/plugins/guide/social-login-smf/

I see the script is available for free:

https://github.com/oneall/social-login-simple-machines-forum

If forum.biblepay.org is the main way to discuss topics, social login will allow people to register more easily.

General Support - Solved / Re: staking rewards
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:25:57 PM »

Hi, I wrote an article about your question.

https://whitewalr.us/2020/bbp-stake-earn-methods.html

The summary is:
1) sanctuary (masternode) fractional on foundation.biblepay.org is currently the best way to earn 35%
2) dynamic whale staking 22% see #1
3) podc 2.0 you can earn with by contributing to science with your computing power
you can do part podc 2.0 for BBP that you need for full PoDC payment and rest you can put in fractional reserve
4) faucets
