Production Proposals / Re: Kairos Children's Fund Small Business Grants

Just to update everyone, we now have 13 business proposals:
Those who will be awarded money for their proposal will be asked to repay within 6 months at 1% interest, BUT the money repaid will go to another proposal. So if we don't get enough money for all families, then we will simply give it next time.
I am basing this a little bit on Grameen mico-loans, which go mostly to women for small projects. Women tend to be harder working and better repayers.

Thanks everyone!

I was not able to create the proposal because I lack 2,000 bitcoin. I someone would be able to give me, or I can borrow, that would be great. My wallet address is B9167vqdrGzdBr5oWEHiQqfn33K1aFLWed

I just created a proposal for 1M, and this would give small business grants to about 6 people. We would still need to raise money for the others though.

My Biblepay address is BGPqae3ip1f6QuYnsYqp3vx9CZ27dgUkGa. Donations would be appreciated, and if you want to sponsor a child you can check out https://kairoschildrens.fund/campaign-2021-22

This project is part of our children's fund, so we are giving to the families. Mostly it will be mothers who will run and manage the businesses. As I said we have 7 proposals (at the moment, but we expect more) and a minimum of $25 will be given per proposal, although it might be more if we can raise more.

Production Proposals / Kairos Children's Fund Small Business Grants

First of all, thanks Biblepay for sponsoring 12 kids to go to school and get a good education. BBP has been helping our kids for 4 years now.
We are raising money for small business grants so that the parents of these kids will be able to start a small business. They are required to give us a business proposal worth $25 each. This is actually enough money to start a small business.
So far the proposals are:
Buying motorcycle tire interiors - $25
   Capital to start a home-based cupcake business  - $25
   Peanutbutter making  - $25
   Small store  - $25
   E-load business (cellphone)  - $25
   Puto business (a native breakfast)  - $25
Flower business (purchase of flowers)  - $25
We are trying to raise $500 for this project, but less than that amount will be a great help also.

Great idea.
I do have a list of payment options here: https://kairoschildrensfund.com/index.php/giving-how-to
We can accept almost any kind of cryptocurrency as well. If using PayPal, we are asking for an additional 5% for the transfer fee.
Regarding accountability, that's a good point. Are there any suggestions? For those who are using POOM, there will be public accountability (I think)
Whenever money comes in, we have a recording scheme to show what it is used for, but it would be only shown to donors. I could post that here, or somewhere else.
Also, Sunk818 had a good idea of making a card with notes from BiblePay community. That would be great.

I know that this isn't really the place to post this, but the BBP community has been super supportive of Kairos Children's Fund.
we are starting out Christmas program. This means that we're collecting for gifts and a Christmas party. Visit our website for more information. (kairoschildrensfund.com)

Archived Proposals / Kairos Children's Fund new website
« on: November 13, 2019, 07:06:51 AM »
I wanted to let the community know that Kairos Children's Fund has a new website. (kairoschildrensfund.com). We stopped the old website several months ago, and I just got it up again. I will be integrating it with POOM, and hopefully this will help in the sponsorship area.

If you would be interested to sponsor, go to the website and click 'sponsor a child'. You can also download our brochure if you want to pass it out to friends.

BiblePay needs to recover, I understand that.

Kairos Children's Fund is a small sponsorship organization. We are a charity in the Philippines helping children to get a good education, knowing that this is the best way to help them climb out of poverty.
