Archived Proposals / Re: PRE-PROPOSAL - Advertising - Google Adwords
« on: June 27, 2018, 02:59:05 AM »
$0.50 is pretty high for pay-per-click. It really depends on your competitors and how much you want to spend to show your ads on rotation and how quickly you want to burn through your budget. You could spend less. if you buy long-tail keywords (3 keyword+). Those clicks are cheaper and you can "work around the edges". Ultra targeted keywords with very low CPC (cost per click).

Do you have keywords from the web site log (referer.log)? You could look analyze the keyword traffic (excluding log spam) and see if you can build a word set based on those referral keywords.

The other website selling banner ad space is good for visibility ("brand awareness") for BBP, but this is hard to measure. What kind of sites are you looking to buy banner ad space on? Is it PPI (pay per impression) or PPC (pay per click)? I can see banner ads being effective if the web site is ultra focused. For example, mining web site and you could buy space to market the CPU only mining aspects of the coin. Maybe BOINC related websites for PoDC aspect.

Other ways to build awareness is to create more content for biblepay.org . The forum (not btc talk) is a no-brainer.

Try Google Search Console
www.google.com/webmasters/
Do you own forum.biblepay.org? Get indexing and ranking data from Google.

I have admin-access to the biblepay.org (Wordpress) backend, but there doesn't seem to be any analytics plugin installed and I can't seem to find the referer.log you are talking about (any tips?).

For the new site (which will hopefully go online withing a week) I will probably use google analytics and SEO-plugins to gather data and improve our ranking.

I don't have administrator rights to forum.biblepay.org. That's Rob I guess.

I submitted a pull request to for some simple UI filter options.  It seems there are a few more on github waiting to be merged /reviewed as well.

edit: re-enabled my masternodes on the latest ver.

I took a look at the pull request. I was actually looking for a 'superblock payment' filter last week when I needed an overview of BBP payments for CameroonONe. ;D Awesome!

Unrelated: I've updated my Sanctuary to 1.1.3.4. Rob, are there specific things we need to test now?

IDEAS (NEED FEEDBACK):

- Pop Up / Notification
--- when New Proposal submitted?
--- Reminder to Vote on Proposals X days before end of cycle?
--- when Superblock is mined?
--- when Masternode leaves ENABLED state?

I think that these are great ideas. I don't know it it's technically possible, but it sounds awesome. I especially like the 'voting reminder' one.

If 50 cents per click is worth it I don't know. I don't have experience with these kinds of things.

I know a couple of designers. Shouldn't be a problem :)

155
If I am correct in my assertion I don't think that this proposal will make it to this months superblock Thomas. There wasn't this much budget left to start with, and also, I added a proposal just before yours for a new charity for what was left (about 365.000 BBP).

Of course, the final vote hasn't been cast yet, but still :)

i dont have watchdog setup, the MN is runnin on windows same as the controller wallet.  maybe thats my problem?

Based on the instructions on pg1 it didn't sound like this was required.. i'll see about setting it up

Currently, a sanctuary only runs well on Linux because of the watchdog requirement. You can start a Sanctuary on a Windows-rig, but it will eventually say 'Watchdog expired'.

Archived Proposals / Re: Proposal idea: airdrop
« on: June 25, 2018, 05:01:06 AM »
This sounds like a perfect project for T-mike.  Since he started podcbbp.org.

We could:
Advertise Helping cure cancer through clock cycles, receive $1 of free BBP - click here
The click takes you to his web site
The user pastes a New CPID
We verify the CPID Age > 0 and less than 7 days and the CPID has rac > 1 and the Receive address has not been used
We pay from his faucet the airdrop reward
We save the e-mail for new user correspondence on his mailing list

Okay, this would actually be a good approach!

Maybe it's even better to give more incentive. Like instead of giving 5000 people 1$, let's give 1000 people 5$. I say this because cheating this system would be very time consuming (setting up accounts and waiting for tasks to be solved) ánd they would probably receive enough 'getting started funds' to receive magnitude without having to buy BBP from an exchange from the get go (making it easier to start).

We could maybe do it this way: create a google-form (or our own online form on the website) on which people can post the CPID with RAC. On that form they also have to provide us with a BBP-address and an email-address that matches the one they have used to sign up for our newsletter (on our new website).

If the email-addresses match and the CPID with RAC is less then 7 days old, we could transfer the BBP to their wallet.

Maybe we could even write a script for this, or automate it in some way (I don't know :p).

I've been in contact with airdropalert.com. They have free and paid listings. Their cheapest package is 750$ in ETH and includes the following things:

1) Promotion package Small
- Priority listing on website for 3 days
- No advertisement at info on airdrop
- 2 Tweets/FB/TG posts announcing the airdrop

Is it worth the price? The social media posts will reach a lot of people. But we could perhaps also do our own PR.

Archived Proposals / Re: Kairos Children's Fund proposal
« on: June 25, 2018, 03:24:27 AM »
Hello everyone,

I confirm that Andrew and I have been in contact and I have been doing due diligence on his charity. As far as I'm concerned, this charity is 'as close to the source' as you can get. Minimal overhead, maximal impact.

I am excited that Andrew reached out to us and I would love to see that this proposal will get funded. I hope that this will be the start of a warm and mutually beneficial relationship.

About the financial side: prepaying Compassion for a minimum of six months has been our top priority, and 8M BBP has been requested for that in this superblock. CameroonONE's proposal had been completely paid, so in my view there is room for Andrew's proposal.

I suggest spreading Andrews proposal out over at least two or three superblocks in order to minimize impact on the Compassion-funding. About 365k BBP is left in this months budget, and I will request those BBP for a starting-budget so that we can start giving children some much needed help right away.

Thank you for considering funding this proposal!

how do you deal with WATCHDOG_EXPIRED message when i'm running the masternode from the wallet?

Did you make sure to set the watchdog.conf to testnet?

160
Just, please stay away from yobit. There has been  plently of problems with them...

Thanks for the advice. This is indeed the conclusion we also came to. We will most definitely stay away from Yobit for the time being.

Ok, Im up to 1133 on my two sancs now.

Have you guys been getting paid daily superblock rewards?  I got one while my sanc was off.

So btw, an update on the proposal filter feature:  Its in this version, but as you can see in proposals list, both are still there even though the Groundbreaking one was paid.  I took a look at this in depth, and what it is is that since the supermajority of the sancs went down (Or were not running watchman), they lost the trigger that links the proposal to the trigger to the superblock.  Another words the chain cant see that it was paid.  I was taking a look at this in prod, and I dont think this particular thing can happen with 100+ sancs on line.  So I wrote some debug info for the feature and what I think Ill do is when we deem proposals safe to enable in prod (IE the next leisure release), we can log in on the prod side and test it.  But from what I see from the debug info, it should work in prod as-is and filter paid proposals in prod.

I have been getting daily superblock rewards, but looking at my boincinfo it says something strange:

Both my rigs have been paid in the same daily superblocks it appears, but it says:
"  "Superblock Count (One Week)": 199,
"Superblock Hit Count (One Week)": 6,"

The superblock count seems weird. Anyway, PODC-payments seem to be working. Are we still on one minute blocktimes? Because then there should me more like seven 'daily superblocks' each day, right?

I just deployed 1.1.3.3.

Please upgrade all testnet sancs so we can test the mature_consensus feature for the daily PODC superblock.

Its OK if non participating sancs are not upgraded; we only need a few that are actually online and synced to make this work.

(I think we had 3 sancs as of yesterday running out of a list of 20 with 17 offline).

(We need 2 for a consensus).

Just started my 1.1.3.3. Sanctuary. Should be 'ENABLED' in a few hours...

Great work keeping this treasury topped off.

I think our exchange future is bright, after cryptobridge,  (hopefully NEXT also) and then coinexchange.io, I think we will have double the investor presence.

I have a suggestion, this is sort of a caution.  Since none of us know the future price of the market (IE market timing is impossible to know), nor do we know the future price of bitcoin, I recommend dumping coins that are over 30 days old on the exchanges so as to keep the situation moving.  Obviously if you have the time and patience to do so slowly (IE 200K per day or something) then that is even better.  But my suggestion stems from this:  I would not want to see 3-6 million coins get backed up and unsold for 60 days while waiting for a better price.  Because what can happen is two very bad things:  Price could drop leaving us with nothing, and coinexchange.io could withdraw the deal (they have been known to if we wait too long).

So this is not a rule just a friendly recommendation that it would be better to flush them out each month and let the value buyers buy them up even if we have to take a hit.  I feel that over time, all this averages out for us.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob. I totally agree with this :) I thought that I set reasonable sell orders, but I didn't anticipate the recent devaluation. My strategy worked well in the past, but it doesn't seem to work this time around.

I will use the strategy of selling all received coins before the next superblock from now on.

Btw, this is still the Exchange Fund address:
https://blockchain.info/address/3AojspQgpSSDdPJJANj4UtSBFUZy8YdduT

I accidentally used my own BTC to pay for CryptoBridge, haha! So the amount in this address will stay static until I have received more than 1.0369048 BTC from selling BBP at exchanges. I can provide full accountability if requested. Togo can also vouch that CryptoBridge has been paid. Sorry for the confusion.

Archived Proposals / Re: Bitscoin Korean Advertising
« on: June 21, 2018, 04:09:10 AM »
Hmm... I don't know. Price seems quite steep for what they offer (listing on the site and some advertising). It's true that South-Korea is big in terms of crypto, but still, how big is this site?

I tried to translate this website: https://bitscoin.co.kr/index
Don't know why almost all bars are at 0% and what it means.

Fund update:

I've sold about half of last months BBP for BTC on southXchange and QIEX. Someone seems to have put up a 3M BBP sell-wall on southXchange (I saw the wall move from 40 to 34 Satoshi). My sell orders are above that, so since the wall arrived I haven't sold BBP anymore.

Anyway, that's the update :) Of course, the Fund has paid 1 BTC for CryptoBridge and now we're saving for other future exchanges.

I'm going to ask for another round of 'one Sanctuary worth of BBP', so 1.552.501 BBP (one sanctuary + proposal costs).
