Thanks for being here Prof Budinga.  Its always nice to have loyal support for biblepay that actually cares.

Btw, Budinga and I have discovered HOTMAIL blocks the biblepay forum emails.  That explains the user a few pages back that was not receiving our FORUM Emails.  All other domains, to my knowledge, are getting through From the Forum.

I also Tested hotmail, I created a hotmail account and sure enough if I send myself an email from my biblepay address, it does not go through.

So my suggestion is Anyone using hotmail here, please change your email address to something else, anything but Hotmail.

I opened a ticket with Hotmail yesterday asking them to fix it and they autoreplied: DENIED without a real reason.  Ill try again another way asap.

That's a bit silly denied for what? i suppose they want you to move the domain to hotmail.

Just downloaded the latest version syncing the blockchain now, wouldn't let me load without deleting the blockchain first.

I dont know, all they said was:
Hi ,

Thanks for your patience while we investigated your request.

Below your IP address(es) and their status(es) are listed.

Not qualified for mitigation

If you want to try with your hotmail you can send a message to microsoft support and say they should allow messages from your hotmail to go to @biblepay.org.

Regarding having to -erasechain=1, that happens if your client is between mandatory upgrades and not in sync.

Thanks Rob.

I managed to get my EasySanc up and running. The only issue i had was for some reason i had to put some coins in to my CHRISTIAN-PUBLIC-KEY address before it would let me revive the Sanct.

Apart from that pretty simple to setup.

Good Work thank you for the easy tutorial.

Ok, thats great that you got EasySanc up!  So once the mandatory block passes I will explain a little more about how the new investor sanc feature works in the background.
There is a daemon that runs that will revive your sanc automatically (thus keeping the investor payments flowing even if you get POSE banned).

I forgot about having to have a few bbp in the CPK.  Ill have to mention that also.

Those go to the network fees for the revival tx.

Great thanks Rob. I was gonna ask for  a bit more info on how it works.

Just one question do we all get paid the same or does the amount we have in the Sanctuary matter?

Congratulations on the latest upgrades and new features. The dark theme of the desktop version of Unchained appears to "hide" the announcements on the top of the page.

Thanks oncoapop, I appreciate the congrats.  I hope we have a lot of phone users and I am excited that we can eventually add routing rules to a GUI which will allow businesses to route incoming calls to their appropriate office extensions etc.

We can also have a lot of calling to Canada, Europe, Mexico and other global PSTN families relatively cheap.

So for the settings, just click the top right Gear icon and you can choose a different theme.

Just one question do we all get paid the same or does the amount we have in the Sanctuary matter?

For the sancs, if they are active sancs in the ENABLED state, they get 100%, but if they are investor sancs they get 50%.  Investor sancs start to get labeled as an Investor relatively quickly as their quorums fail (see the Sanctuaries tab in the GUI and the Status).  Once labeled in a non ENABLED state (IE Investor state) the rewards drop to 50%.

Each sanc does have to have exactly 4,500,001 collateral.  Otherwise it wont actually be entered on the sanctuary list.

BIBLEPAY E-MAIL SERVICE IS READY FOR TESTING IN MAINNET

We are currently giving away free e-mail service to our users with hopes to grow our community size.  We reserve the right to charge a monthly fee in BBP for this feature in the future, but I think for now it is time to grow.

To get your free e-mail server (IMAP) (meaning that you can set it up on both your home PC and your phone and the e-mails can be deleted from either device and perfectly sync with all instances of your inbox on all devices), click on the Unchained icon in the wallet.  Your node should be v5.8+.

From there click E-Mail service, E-Mail and set it up by following the guide.

User Guide:

https://wiki.biblepay.org/BiblePay_Email

In the near future we will look into e-mail encryption with PGP and RSA and implement it if the demand is high.  SSL is already enabled, so the e-mail is transmitted securely and this data is stored on our sanctuary network (and not on any big tech server).

Hi Rob!

Been a while, hope you are doing fine. I just checked out the new release. I really liked the Phone System idea, that may be the ice breaker into the realm of use cases. Thanks a lot for your efforts!

I wanted to set up a sanctuary, but failed compiling the daemon on Ubuntu 20.04 with the instructions provided at https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay/blob/master/BuildBiblePay.txt

Then I attempted to download the Lin64 bins from the website, but what I ended up with is a file called BiblePay.BMSD - never seen such an extension. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi T,

I hope you've been good as well, good to hear from you.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to a bright future as well.  I think the phone could be good for businesses or anyone with more than one phone number.  Or people who make LD calls a lot.

Anyway, first on the BMSD file:  On the Linux version, the extension is actually blank (thats normal for Linux executables).  You dont really need that file to run a sanc.  Its only used if you click on the Unchained button, then its used to launch firefox and allows you to use the softphone, and the email service, etc.

I installed a few Ubuntu 20 sancs over the weekend and didnt have a problem compiling it, but, admittedly I already had mostly synced gitlab repos so that could be the difference.

Could you please share the output of the compile problem so I can attempt to address it?

In the mean time you can use the linux binary if you just install it somewhere and run biblepayd as a sanc.

(It only calls BMSD if you run biblepay-QT and click the Unchained button).

Status:

We are now solving 7 minute blocks on sancs!  Pretty exciting.  It was a little hairy getting past block 428001.
SouthXChange put our wallet in maintenance and are still in process of upgrading.
Bololex and txbit.io and Chainz Block Explorer have upgraded.

My BBP hardware phone is awesome, I actually really like it.  The quality is great.  I'm going to give my son a hardware phone this week (so I have two in my house).  Had to call someone in Chicago the other day for 373 seconds and got billed a pretty cheap rate :
373   $0.146   ₿ 2753.20   f139b1df68a44681f03bf299c57033dbc176bea955ffdd7dc884f67eaffe0661
When you make a call you get billed on chain.

Our hardware phone should be out within 30 days!  If anyone is interested in getting one, push me to get the info out sooner.  The hardware phone is about $40 and comes with a US phone number and all calls automatically get billed to the chain and has the same global rates as our softphone.

All this really involves is plugging in the phone into a cat5 jack in your house and navigating to the Config page and punching in a few lines of settings in the phone and it works immediately.  It takes your phones BBP address' private key.  Its an extremely cool setup.

Regarding our long term roadmap, there is a new service coming soon called Marqeta.  Remember we have an entry to eventually release BBP debit cards on our roadmap?  Marqeta legally integrates with cryptocurrencies in the US.  I'm hoping to get that slated as a project within a year as well (after our finances improve).  They require a certain amount of collateral to set up (dont have the details yet but I inquired).
