General Support - Solved / Staking on Bech32 (bc1) BTC address
« on: March 04, 2021, 01:06:57 AM »
Hi everyone!

I was reading the documentation on the new staking option, and testing some things out.

Code: [Select]
07:39:40

getpin bc1qnx********************************

07:39:40

Address must be 34 characters long.  (code -1)

A  BTC Bech32 address is in fact 42 characters long. I was wondering if there is a technical reason for not being able to use Bech32 addresses? Or could this address-type also be implemented in staking?

Archived Proposals / New Exchange Fund (recoup fronted BTC December 2018)
« on: December 10, 2018, 02:35:40 PM »
Hi everyone,

A post and an update from my side. I'm doing pretty well considering the circumstances. I've been re-inventing my life a bunch and I can breathe a bit again. Again, I'm sorry that I had to leave without much notice, but a burn-out is a serous matter :(

On the New Exchange Fund: I sold what I got last superblock + some of my own BBP, and I'm glad to say that I have recouped practically all the the BTC!

You can find this months trades here:
https://imgur.com/a/bOUPlkk

I did sell some of my own BBP, so this proposal is to get some of that BBP back , but that will be the last proposal, and fortunately the budget will be opened up for other things. You can see an overview of the recouping here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A0ZUlpMaw7pZ5YQEiLN7WoqZP1bq5VOcEZGzMS8KWlw/edit#gid=0

You can find the old proposals here:
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=308.0

I sold 365 489 of my own BBP this month, and there is still about a 0,012 BTC deficit (not including all the trade and transfer costs, but I will donate those to BiblePay), which is about 100 000 BBP at the current price. I'd like to round it all to down 400,000 and call it a day :)

I hope that you will vote 'yes' on this proposal, so that we can finalize this chapter. And as I said in my previous proposal: because of my burn-out I am no longer able to continue the New Exchange Fund for now. I hope to return to the community in the future if my health permits.

Thanks!

Jaap

Archived Proposals / New Exchange Fund (recoup fronted BTC November 2018)
« on: November 14, 2018, 08:53:55 AM »
Hi everyone,

I presume that you all know that I fronted some BTC to get us listed on coinexchange.io. Sadly, since the fronting, the BBP price went down, so it's taking way longer than expected to recoup the costs.

I sold what I got last superblock + some of my own BBP - to speed up the proces - (a total of 2M BBP) at 6 satoshi today.

Here you can find an overview of the Fund-sales:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A0ZUlpMaw7pZ5YQEiLN7WoqZP1bq5VOcEZGzMS8KWlw/edit#gid=0

Here is the Fund address (it needs to get to 3BTC 'total received' to be even again), so we still need about 0.17 BTC.

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3AojspQgpSSDdPJJANj4UtSBFUZy8YdduT

Here is the previous discussion about the Fund:
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=97.0

I will be asking for 2M BBP this round. I just want to get this over with as soons as possible so we can look at the future again :)

Also, please take note: after I have recouped the costs, someone else needs to take over the fund (of someone can already start a new Fund today if needed). I have burned out and need to take some time to take care of myself for the time being.

Hi all,

I want to request funds to be able to buy premium-editions of the following two Wordpress plugins:

Yoast SEO: This is an SEO-plugin for wordpress. The free version is already installed, and is primarily used to improve our position in page-ranking (which basically means that search engines will show our website sooner than others). The premium version will add more (much needed) functionality and will enables us to give our website more exposure. It costs €79 ex vat. But since we're not incorporated yes, I'll buy it as a consumer and it will cost me €95.59.

The Newsletter Plugin. This is a plugin we use for our alerts and newsletter. Buying the premium-version will allow us to automate processes, get analytics, and add a nice 'sign up' bar to the footer (or as a pop-up), which will - hopefully - result in more people signing up. This plugin costs €49 incl vat.

That totals €144,59. Current BBP price hovers around 0.00000030 BTC which is about 0,0016 EURO. That would make 90368,75 BBP.

I hope that people can see the value of adding these two premium plugins.

Archived Proposals / Compensation for Jaap's work with BiblePay
« on: May 08, 2018, 03:05:40 AM »
Hi everyone,

Ever since I found this project I've been pretty passionate about it, and I have done a lot of work, most of which I don't think I have to explain. They include giving guidance and advice in every way possible to CameroonONE and Habib, being in several focus-groups, and right now working very hard to get our new website online.

While I see most of what I do as voluntary, and it is in my self-interest to see this coin grow since I am already invested, I also have paid others to do work for me and lately I've pretty much been working full-time on the website.

So I've decided to classify some of the things that I do as 'work' and ask the community if they want to pay me for my added value at a flat-rate of 15$/hour (which is about minimum wage in the Netherlands, where I'm from).

I'm using the current value of BBP, which is 0,0029 EURO.

I would like to receive compensation for the following things:

Proposals that I have submitted for CameroonONE (round 1 & 2), Habib (round 1&2), and the New Exchange Fund (round 1&2). From here on I will add 2500 to these proposals to compensate for the cost of submitting, but I have given all the BBP to the concerning proposals until now, so I would like to ask the community for compensation = 15.000 BBP

I had a designer design a PowerPoint-template for BiblePay for a total cost of 40 euro = 13.793 BBP

I had an external expert do research on CameroonONE for a total cost of 60 euro = 20.689 BBP

I made a PowerPoint-presentation from the ground up for Habib, which took me 8 hours x 15 = 41.379 BBP

I send Habib extra BBP to share with the people present at the presentation because he already spent everything to be able to do the things that he did = 5000 BBP

I had two conference calls to discuss the website-upgrade 4 hours in total x 15 = 20.689

I've spent 60 hours on the website thus far (may 8th) (see attachment) x 15 = 310.344 BBP

I've also been approached to be in a tv-series about cryptocurrency, where I will be representing BiblePay. If everything pans out the right way, this will give our project great exposure. I can't give you any details at this point, but I'd like to ask BiblePay for compensation because a lot of time has gone in getting this off the ground (calling, mailing, writing scripts, etc). I would like to ask the community to compensate me for the time spent on this. Until today (may 8th), I have spent about 20 hours on this x 15 = 103.448 BBP

So in total, that's: 509.673 BBP

I will aks for this compensation from the IT-budget (since the website is the majority of the proposal), although it could also be PR. Or I could also make two separate proposals. This is just a pre-proposal to ask the community what they think about it. After receiving feedback, I will go ahead and submit the proposal.

Thanks!

Jaap

Hi everyone,

Work is underway to update the biblepay.org content in order to show the world with a clear voice what we are all about and why people should invest in us.

April has some great ideas from a marketing perspective. One of her ideas, was to have a so called 'boilerplate': http://dkrcommunications.com/how-to-write-an-effective-boilerplate/

A boilerplate is basically a one-paragraph outline of what we are and what we do. It's a static chunk of information that will pop up in numerous places (mostly on the bottom): on our website, in newsletters, in press-releases, etc. It should give people the possibility to quickly be able to find out what we are about.

This is important, because people - especially in the times we live in - seem to have shorter and shorter attention spans, which isn't weird considering how much information is fired at us at a daily basis. And Biblepay should do it's best to make it as easily as possible for people to quickly figure out what makes us 'worthy' of a closer look before their attention gets seduced to other places.

Getting a good boilerplate is - in my opinion - an important step in the evolution of Biblepay, because it sets a direction for our future growth. Because in creating a boilerplate, a question comes to mind (a question that people like April are also still trying to answer for themselves): WHAT IS BIBLEPAY?

Are we a cryptocurrency? Are we a community? Are we the spreaders of the Gospel? Are we a donation-vehicle for charities? Are we a mixture of all this?

When writing papers, I often got the advice to try and summarize what you are trying to achieve in one sentence. If you can't do that, then probably you don't have enough clarity what you are actually trying to write about.

In light of this, maybe it's best for us to try to summarize what Biblepay is for us in ONE sentence (let's see if we can make this work). View it as a 'headline'. The first sentence you see when you would enter our website.

Maybe something like:

Biblepay: the environmentally conscious cryptocurrency that contributes to cancer research and helps orphans in Jesus name.

Anyway: I think that getting a good boilerplate will help us set a direction not only for Biblepay as a whole, but also in the way in which we want to structure our website (putting the important things first).

Archived Proposals / Proposal idea: airdrop
« on: March 01, 2018, 08:41:50 AM »
I'm just thinking out-loud here. But I've been participating in some airdrops lately at https://airdropalert.com/ and they also do something called 'hosted airdrops'.

This means you fill in a form at their website like this one for example: https://airdropalert.com/cms/join/taxi

We might ask people to join our twitter and fill in their Biblepay wallet adres (which means they must download our paper/mobile/pc wallet to get an adres, and thus become aware of that we stand for). We might have a max of 3000 participants or something, and give everyone - for example - 100 BBP, or maybe even a dollar worth to each participant. I think it would get our name out there and hopefully we can get some more committed users.

This is not a proposal for this round, but just an idea we could maybe talk about :)
