General Support - Solved / Southxchange BBP Wallet offline
« on: March 20, 2021, 09:56:44 AM »
I noticed that the Southxchange BBP wallet status is offline for several hours now.  I opened a ticket at Southxchange without a response yet (about 2 hours ago). Have they reached out to anyone here to figure out what's wrong?

Thank you!

Was the outage just for a couple hours around last night at midnight and then it was resolved by 2am?  Just wondering because I believe the pool experienced a dns problem when I was taking the other server down.

No, it was definitely this morning. Looking at the graphs on MineXMR dashboard, my workers went offline right at 8am Eastern and they came back online around 10:15 Eastern.  It didn't appear to be a network issue on my end, as everything else was fine (both kids doing class remotely and my wife working remotely).

btw ringa did you get the email i sent 2021-03-02 ?

I got yours and also two from Rob, so it looks like it's working 100%. Thanks!

Regarding the videos, yes, I see the problem - we are now making the video content more secure by requiring them to be either hit by a biblepay-chrome-client or from the foundation link, and I see why the link didnt work - it couldnt get the video size - FIXED.

Hi Rob,
The leaderboard video link stopped working again, I think it started late last night Eastern time. Thank you!

Rob, it looks like all my BBP/XMR miner workers all dropped off the XMR Viewer. On the console of a worker, I am seeing the following error after I restarted the xmr mining client:
[2021-03-04 08:43:40.159]  net      foundation.biblepay.org:3001 connect error: "operation canceled"

I am using Thunderbird from Mozilla. I didn't want to get into the mess of setting up Outlook, so I went simple. However, I am apparently still not communicating.

I just sent myself another test message. ~102 BBP came out of my wallet and I received it back to myself shortly thereafter. I sent yet another message to you, Earl, with ~100 BBP out of my wallet to send it. This all took place at 1522 EST today.

I'm having similar problems as RD, and I am also using Thunderbird.  I can send an email to myself and it sends an I receive it just fine. Over the weekend, I have sent 2-3 emails to Rob and one to Earl that went through from my client's perspective, and I got charged 100 BBP for each email sent in my wallet, so it appears to have at least gotten that far. Can Rob and Earl check email and determine if they have anything from [email protected]?

Thanks,
-R

Here is something very scary:

Going to https://www.vultr.com (or vultr.com):
Page not found (404)

LOL.  Can you imagine how many cryptocurrencies are shaking in their boots right now if the "decentralized" networks no longer exist?

Luckily all the servers are up, but it goes to show you how 'decentralized' crypto really is.  Im not bashing our space -- simply pointing out a vulnerability we should build around as we mature - to ensure we host some sancs on our home networks also.  On a side note, we are the only coin to my knowledge that have Windows sanctuaries available in addition to linux.  And since we don't require watchman on the wall anymore we also support nginx free watchman.

EDIT:  They are back up now.

On a similar note, I've been wondering about how different wallets "connect to the network" to sync up, and how can that possibly be interrupted to shutdown access to a crypto's network.  Given the current state of censorship in tech today, and how the saints should be expecting more and more of this to come, I tend to think about this a lot.

I imagine that there's some sort of DNS lookup when a wallet starts, which gives them the IP (or set of IPs) for nodes to connect to. If the domain name is revoked and/or DNS cannot resolve, is there a manual way for people to bootstrap their wallets to get "on the network"? if so, do we have that documented in the wallet or on the wiki?

General Support - Solved / Leaderboard video links are not working
« on: February 20, 2021, 07:57:15 AM »
I've noticed in the past couple of days, the Video links that occasionally appear at the bottom of the Leaderboard web page no longer work. When you click them, instead of watching a video and earning the reward, there is an error (see below).  Hopefully it's an easy fix! Thanks,

-R

Code: [Select]
Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

We have to be known for something of our own.  And that can be freedom related anti censorship features.
Yes, THIS! Please and Thank you.
However I can help support, I am happy to do so!

First, some context-- I'm new to cryptocurrency, but learning quickly, so please consider that with my newbie questions.  :)

I'm really excited about BBP and I am glad to have been led to discover it. I am committing to help BBP as much as I can. First in prayer for the platform, the founders and contributors, and for the many people in the world who will be helped in the name of Christ. Second, in the dual hash mining efforts to help contribute to charity. Third, in helping to tell my friends and family about it, and encourage us all to use it. Finally, fourth (which brings me to my question), I would like to purchase BBP with fiat currency.

In order to do that, what is the most simple and straightforward way to do that for someone in the USA?

Again, I am new to the cryptocurrency ecosystem, but learning quickly.  There are a lot of very easy options available to directly purchase BTC (or other popular crytpo). What is the most straightforward way for me to do that with BBP?

Thank you!
