This week is cancelled due to a death in the family.

Hello Rob.

So i tested again the verification for full voting weight ,  the SMS verification  , i still get the same error message as before.
I noticed a bug when i posted  in comments section of the prayer requests i noticed all of the comments  suddenly became from me although just the most recent one was. I send with a picture:

Other then that  the thumbs up/down works just fine aswell.

I also was thinking if we could implement some sort of random reward say 5-100bbp for watching videos , kinda like odysee/lbry does  and also im thinking if we could do some sort of reward , like reddit if you like the OP  posts and things you can give various rewards.  Just some thoughts flying around.

Hi Earlz!

Do you think you can PM me your Sweden phone # so I can debug?

I will look at this other issue as soon as Im back.

Thanks brother,
Rob

EDIT:  I fixed the Comments issue, where it repeated the User, please check if its fixed.
Hey I also put in the "Trending" and the "Recently Uploaded" please see!

General Support / Re: mining

Thanks for the reply. I mine to the address of the wallet that appeared in my personal account. A month ago, payments on it stopped.

Hi,

Mining from the pool to the pool is not really supported.  Please mine to your home wallet address.
Also, please don't mine to SouthXChange either; a lot of services do not receive coinbase payments that are sent as multi-v-out-s (like we send from the pool).  You can mine to 'unchained.biblepay.org' if you want, but that program is in beta, so I still really recommend to mine to the home wallet.

Let me know how much you missed and I can give you a pool balance credit.

Thanks.

Hi Melhisedek, Love your name,

Anyway, I see you are still mining successfully in the Foundation pool.  (You can see if you are mining by going to the leaderboard in the pool).

Is the problem you arent getting paid?

You might be out of sync - please paste the Version of your wallet - you should be up to 1.6.2.9
You can get this in Wallet | Tools | Info
And make sure you are synced up to the chainz block:

** Major BiblePay Announcement concerning the Core Wallet **

First leading up to the reason behind this change:  Our industry is extremely volatile.  The code is changing (and improving), bitcoin is introducing new features at a rapid pace, these are being pushed down to Dash, dash is implementing security commits and refactoring, and optimizing, etc.  Things like optimizing LLMQ, chainlocks, adding HD wallets, adding decentralized APIs and things.  The blistering pace makes it very hard to maintain BiblePay core with all of our customizations' while releasing all of their new code at the same time (especially when core classes change making it challenging to refactor without rebasing).   (There are over 450 new bitcoin commits in the last quarter coming into the dash branch, and even after our latest rebase, its looking like its essential for yet another rebase by the end of the year!).

So I've been praying about this, and I feel God is leading me to a solution where the core wallet remains pristine (IE 99% binary compatible with Dash since Dash is our chosen branch with governance).  And that means that our code has to live either in another module, or in unchained.  I've been analyzing the potential possibility of porting everything that we have done into the sidechain and allowing it to run from unchained.biblepay.org.  After this analysis, it appears to be a solid solution that will actually help us and improve our long term potential.

So this is what biblepay-core will look like in the future:
  • A fully dash compatible wallet, with all the bitcoin features, with our branding and logo and left toolbar menu and CSS.
  • A master interface, speaking c#, to interface with our sidechain.
  • A button to take you to unchained from the core wallet.
  • Our daily superblock would be running on the sidechain, and the Portfolio Builder rewards would be paid to your unchained wallet account.  The leaderboard report will be available from unchained.  There will be no leaderboard in biblepaycore.  (On a side note, if you all want to make a poll if we should remove the leaderboard and just have a private report per user (IE for anonymity sake for each users positions), I would be interested in that outcome).
  • NFTs and Orphan NFTs would be running from unchained.  We will remove NFTs from the core wallet and rewrite the NFT-Add/Edit pages over on unchained.
  • Scripture memorizer, Read the Bible, and Core Gospel would run from unchained.  (No menu changes in the core wallet).
  • RandomX mining will still work from the core wallet, but, we will make an attempt to use the Dash miner for solo mining.  If it fails, we will move back to the bitcoin-biblepay miner.
  • Twice a year, we will be able to pull in all of the latest important wallet updates and push them as a mandatory into the core without breaking the core wallet!
  • Since we will be Fully dash compatible, perpetually into the future, large industrial investors will theoretically never hesitate to buy BBP in large quantities since we will have more security and future compatibility.  (IE our testnet and code-playground will be in Unchained TestNet, therefore will never risk modifications to the core wallet code).
  • We can then invite C# devs into the project which I believe are more readily available than c++ devs.

In light of all this, I'm currently porting all of our custom code over to Unchained.  My goal is to release a new 0.17 branch core wallet by the end of the year that is fully dash compatible, delivering on our c# roadmap promise also.  At the same time, we can set a milestone to upgrade unchained from Beta to MainNet during the end of year release.

In the mean time, once this Beta version is ready for testnet, I will call for massive testing.  We need help with both core-wallet testing and Unchained testing.

On a side note, we still need help with unchained beta testing (see the TestNet threads).

Production Proposals / Re: Kairos Children's Fund Small Business Grants
« on: August 03, 2021, 10:33:41 AM »
And Andy, one other way we can manage this is putting in a governance proposal for part of this.
We have about 2.5MM available in the August budget, so this is not all for Charity but I think half of this might be a good number to potentially be approved as a proposal.

If you want to enter one for the amount you think might be voted in and use this thread as the proposal, you can go into "Proposal Add" from the wallet, and add a proposal pointing to this thread.

Thanks.

And like Earlz said, you can also provide donation address and ask for donations up to the amount you are seeking that the budget doesnt cover.

Kairos Childrens Fund has posted this here regarding a potential proposal:

Hello Brother Rob.

I have retested uploading the "big" file and it worked just fine, fast upload and all. The file size was around half a gigabyte. I also tested upload a smaller 5-6mb video and it worked aswell.

So i was thinking in the video section could we add some diffrent categories for people and and like search index for recent uploaded , highest rated etc .. Would be a good idea i think. Im thinking like netflix with categories and such.

Avatar was easy enough to upload.

Then i tested to populate:  "Verify Account for Full Voting Weight" in the account section.
So i tested my cell phone number and country code +46  (sweden) but i just received the following error:
Code: [Select]
Error

We were unable to send your SMS. Please try including a +1 or a + plus the Country Code first before the phone number and try again. If the problem persists, please open a ticket in github with the example phone number or send an e-mail to [email protected]

Anyways i think Unchained beginning to look  pretty sweet man!

Hi Bro. Earlz!

Thanks for testing man.
Thats very good to hear on the big upload (and the avatar), that we can maintain security and receive the file at the same time, as that could have been a big roadblock for us.

I completely like your ideas and agree-- with the category for Highest Rated (or trending), and Recent Uploaded, very nice ideas, yes we need those.  I was also thinking of adding a "town hall", IE a way for everyone to come together in one place and discuss things (IE sensitive topics we cant talk about on social media, IE coronavirus, or whatever).  (Both an instant type town hall that replaces the wallets Chat feature, and a longer term Comments type town hall that stays for users who want to talk long term).  We also need to add Comments to videos!  (That should bolt right on actually, since its reusable).

Im also aware that my videos are hogging up too much space in one area, simply because I uploaded them all but Im sure with these filters we can make it a good system.  Right now you can type in a search term, btw.

Thanks for the compliments, Im hoping with our sidechain we can eventually take the best of the three major types of social media, and make them work in the sidechain.  I feel like we are so far along already with the concept, we can do this (and also attract some c# devs to help as this is in c#).

Yeah, so on the phone number issue, checking into this now:  Ok yes, I do see a problem with intl phone numbers.  I had to make a change.  Could you please try again now with "+46" before your phone number and see if that fixed it?  On a side note, we do store the 'verified' flag as 1, but we don't actually penalize anyone yet (everyone still has full voting weight).  But I think it will be good in the future for the wikipedia idea (and for voting integrity).  If you could, please test some voting also, see if it behaves correctly on both videos and prayer comments?  When you change your vote on a distinct object, it does flip your vote.  (To show the algo, we can explain these are distinct votes per object by BiblePay Unchained Address).

On another related side note, I'm thinking that we can eventually propose to Link (or require) RandomX miners to be Social Media participants.  This would give our BBP-RandomX miners more revenue.  Basically what we would do is require the Unchained bbp address to be the one they mine to.  Then the pool would make sure the user has social media activity on the sidechain that month, otherwise they dont get paid.  Im thinking of activity like upvotes, downvotes, tips, comments, etc.   It might give us a new inrush of users also.  It would somewhat tend to restrict the big mining pools too.

Thanks!

Hi,
I have a wallet 1.6.2.5 (win 10 - 64). The wallet is not updated (update does not work).
There is no file on the https://biblepay.org/biblepay-win64.exe page. (new version of the wallet)
What should I do?

Hi Anfol,
When I click the link it works now; please try again.

I also have the same problem

Please provide the URL you are referring to so I can look into it?
(And if you are a miner, and the event you are trying to click into)?

EDIT:  It looks like it works for me... Need more info.

Sanctuary Discussions / Re: Raspberry pi 4 2gb/4gb
« on: July 26, 2021, 08:03:21 PM »
Im pretty excited. Some new hardware have arrived.

  • Raspberry pi4 8GB LPDDR4 RAM
  • Argon m.2 case
  • WD Green 240GB m.2 ssd

I have had some cases for raspberry pi before , cheap acrylic case , flirc case for the 3b and so on. Gotta say this Argon one m.2  case is really nice quality built.

I will post some pictures of the case and the future sanc.

Once i get everything up and running i will do some updates, might make a tutorial "how to"

Hi Earlz,

I see you got it all inserted once I quit hounding you.

Wow, that machine really looks cool!  I do find it pretty amazing that will run on 10 watts, and you can get 20 randomx hashes per second too, which is more than plenty to run the sanc at full speed!  Also Im impressed how much ram you can get on there, it should be pretty close to a single core intel cloud device or so etc.  On a side note, I paid a couple grand for a SAN just 5 years ago, and I saw a 1TB USB stick for something like $49 and it made me wonder if there are any network attached USB sticks (there are a couple on amazon) but of course the issue with those is they dont handle parallel IO very well, so it would only be good for a single user system (IE would be great for a video storage system for a household).  (I also found you can plug a stick into a roku, and use the roku as a household media streamer).

Anyway one other interesting use I found for raspberry PI, there is an article out there: how to build a windows 11 raspberry pi.  Its really ironic that windows 10 wont work on it but 11 will.
But over 11 I think I would still go with your sanc idea (simply because in my case, visual studio wont run on a pi running windows 11, due to the processor architecture), although it would be a nice surfing computer for an extra room in the house etc.  One that could run on solar power.

Maybe you can make a solar powered sanc.

Still i have not managed to upload the video file.
Here is the first file i tested:

Still i dont get it to upload the video file. I noticed after a while on unchained site i got the message:   Figure i test out some pictures and pdfs next..

Hi Bro Earlz,

Thank you for the detailed testing results.

Sorry for the delay; for some reason, I didn't get this last notify email.

Anyway, over the last 2 days, I did some more testing on this issue and I did find an additional issue that only occurs in production.  You know, on a side note, in the background, we are actually working on making this very resilient so that free speech info can be posted and it cant be taken down.  That particular CDN is making it a little challenging to accept uploads > 100 meg.  However I think its fixed now.  We moved to a new asynchronous upload.

Could you please try these again and also on a side note please try one small file too if you have any problems.
Btw, when you upload your videos, they should appear in "Your channel" so you will know they uploaded.

Another note, the prayer you added a while back, schema changed, so your avatar and username (and everyones got erased)  -  and not because we can erase it (since its on a sidechain) because of the way the data is mapped.

Could you please try adding an avatar to your user record too?

Thanks!

Good Morning to you all

well can some one please  tell me  whats  going on with the wallet
all im now getting is this
this also means that  remote rpc  stops working

thanks
Paul

Try stopping the node, then do this:
rm ~/.biblepay/SAN -r
Then restart the node; ( its possible that after all those restarts earlier this week, you may have a corrupt prayers file).

It should only take 30 seconds extra after the *first successive* (after deletion); then each successive boot is fast.

LOL it would of been a lot easier if you had just built them and  put it on github

but i think we are sorted now

thanks for all the help

Paul

Right, I honestly didn't know we were going to need to require 1.6.2.8+ til you couldn't resync from 0 (over the last day or so); now what I'm waiting on is a code review for trust wallet, so as you can imagine, there are a couple things I need to do before I can push out 1.6.3.0 as a release and that is holding us up...

Thanks for your patience and I am glad you got it sorted out.

Also realize, we should be in a position to never break consensus between mandatories in the future now that our DM issues have been sorted out.
Its been a challenge getting those DM issues merged in and every sanc upgraded, but now we should be stable for a long period.

Thanks.
